Well, you must do this trip up through the town then getting to the top of the mountains. The tractor with its carriages takes you on a breath taking view across Roses and looking down at the coast. It was a little bumpy but so exciting. We kept going higher and higher until the driver finally stops to let you get out to take photos. He also gave us wine,or a soft drink with delicious biscuits to enjoy whilst we were admiring the beautiful views. The whole trip took about 2 hours and was definitely worth every euro! Just to say you're not strapped in by a seat belt. I don't like heights but this trip was amazing !

The train was very basic, like the type seen on a seafront. The carriages were open at the sides and the seats were not very comfortable and we were all squashed together. This trip is not for the faint hearted because the tractor type engine pulls these carriages up high on winding unmade dirt tracks with loose earth and sheer drops either side. The views were great but not too sure about the health and safety aspects.

Chose the 2 hour journey into the national park, and had an excellent trip. Brilliant driver. Top of the peak had a pit stop for wine, water, and biscuits, which were very nice dunked into the wine. It's worth a visit. They do smaller trips.

Had a journey on the Roses Express as part of a holiday with Leger travel. It was an excellent experience around the town of Roses and into the National Park. Some steep drops, a bit bumpy with good commentary. We stopped at the summit for local wine and biscuits provided by the driver. A good experience all round. Takes about 2.5 hours.

The journey is a couple of hours which takes you to the highest point of National park. Opportunities to take photos especially at the top the top is quite high and not for the faint-hearted. Can be bumpy journey on train which was amusing for the group/passengers. At top your offered cookies and wine and opportunity to take spectacular photos. An Amazing day - thank you little Roses train!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip on the Roses Express. We chose the 2 hour trip which took us up to the highest point in the National Park. On the way we were able to see the beautiful coastline. Mist at the top prevented us from seeing the views but we enjoyed the wine and cookie stop. Would highly recommend taking one of the available trips as you get to see such a lot.

We chose the Puig Rom Panoramic trip which is 15 Km & took an hour among the 5 routes available.
It is well organised & even had our photos taken with the option of buying the prints.
The journey covered views of the sea as well as the mountain backdrop of Roses.
The train stopped few times giving us opportunities to take photos. It was bumpy & dusty at times but definitely worth it.

It was terrrible, the sound was really so loud, that after the ride my ears hurted for the rest of the night. My son was complaining about headache. It was not relaxing, you couldn’t say a word to eachother because of the loud sounds of music and speaking. Also because of that we didn’t enjoy the views! It was more like a party train than a relaxing train ride to enjoy views!
I would not recommand! It really ruined our evening, and I hope not my ears!!

From the five alternarive routes, we chose the longest (30Km for 2 hours), which took us from the town of Roses, up to the highest mountain of the Cap de Creus peninsula, with sensational views of the sea on both sides.
It was an exciting "off road" trip, perhaps not for the faint hearted with a fear of heights ? There's a refreshment stop near the top for wine and cookies !!
A great way to see the environs of Roses; highly recommended !!

Our tour manager arranged for a special reserved trip on this "train* for our group and it was thoroughly worthwhile. It picked us up outside our hotel and then took us around the harbour before going through the town and up the hillto the high points. Smooth enough if a bit jerky on the the raod it then went onto some rough and quite steep tracks to some fantastic viewpoints above the town and the nearby bay. Despite the steepness it never felt unsafe despite quite a bit of bumping about. Commentary was in English as we were a completely English group. We enjoyed it thorougly but would not recommend it for anyone uncertain about heights and looking down, or pregnant! The trip lasted about an hour and three quarters and ended as the sun was starting to set which gave the scenery added beauty. As healthy 70 somethings, it was one of the best experiences of our week.
