We are not a great museum lovers, it is hard to keep my kid’s attention on something. This museum we passed through during about an hour. The most impression on my kids had a copy of Kyreniya II and stone anchors under transparent floors. My elder son loves to excavate toy dinosaurs and his favorite exhibit was model of excavations.... This museum was a haven on a very hot day it was full of a variety of interesting items. The film was well produced giving us a potted history of Cyprus with english subtitles, I liked the model of the ship Kryenia and learning the history. The only negativecomment I have is that as most modern buildings it was design over... More

Great escape in the middle of town if you are interested in history of fishing in the island. Quite small and don't offer much to see, but is something cultural and historic in the middle of bars and restaurants.

A very nice quiet museum. In its floors you can explore all secrets of cyprus and others countries sea. The staff is extremely friendly and more than welcome to answer any questions.

Lovely little museum. Very informative. It was very quiet when we went there, and the curator there was very happy answering all our questions

I just visited the museum this week and had a great time. Its not expensive at €4 and should only take 1-2 hours to explore. The exhibitions follow Cypriot natural history, art and culture. The majority of the exhibits have good english translations of the descriptions so you can follow the theme of the museum. The joy of the museum... More

If you have 4-5 extra euro, it will be better to spend them on ice cream, not here. Nothing to see :( Disappointed.

Semi Interesting museum, but lighting is far too dark making reading of description of items difficult. Website says entry cost is €1.50 but charged €4 upon arrival, just about worth the €1.50. Stuffed animals and fish downstairs very " moth eaten " and in poor condition, desperately need some TLC. Far too many items are modern replicas, making it more of... More

Lots of replicas, plastic animals and extremely badly lit. Could be much better and, by Cyprus prices, expensive for what it is. Wouldn't go back.

Thalassa Municipal Museum is a seven-level, interactive museum that links the sea with the history of the island. Its exhibits date as far back as the prehistoric period and are presented in a variety of ways, including underground showcases that allow visitors to admire the objects from a birds-eye-view. Small but of interesting, includes lots of fossilized shells, bones from... More
