We visited Konnos Bay 3 times during our trip to Protaras, and found the area beautiful. The first time we visited was through a Jeep excursion, so we only stayed for an hour and beds were designated so we didn't realise how busy these got so early on! The two other times we visited was when walking along the beautiful coastal path from Protaras to Cape Greco.
The beach itself is lovely, though a bit crammed with sun loungers as the land itself isn't huge. I'm guessing the people staying in the surrounding hotels take the beds pretty quickly. A few spots for people to put towels down for those not wanting a lounger. The waters surrounding the bay are gorgeous - much like most of Cyprus. The waters are warm, shallow and tranquil, perfect for kids, snorkeling, playing games etc. There are water sports and boat rentals provided for a reasonable price. Just off the beach is a small restaurant and take away bar which isn't too expensive, but no shops so advisable to bring things with you if you have kids etc. Toilets and changing rooms well maintained. Car park can get full very quickly with regular trips, quad bikes and buggys passing through.
Konnos Bay is beautiful, surrounded by breath taking views. If you want something a little quieter then I'd recommend walking the coastal path back to Protaras and exploring the smaller beaches a long there.

This became our go-to beach after trying out a few in the area. 10 minute drive from Ayia Napa. Parking down a narrow road. Sheltered beach is handy when high winds meant the main beaches in Ayia Napa had waves too big for my kids. There is a rock which is good for diving, even small kids. There is a larger rock if you are braver, but can be dangerous so pick your landing spot carefully. The kiosk has very tasty snacks, drinks and icecreams for lunch. Water sports are available. Sun loungers are a premium and you have to be quick and ruthless, but dont give up, just keep an eye out for people getting ready to leave, or just take your own umbrella and towels. Water is crystal clear, calm and not too deep, so kids can play unsupervised in the shallows.

We have just returned from Cyprus and this beach was the star of the holiday for me. We arrived before 10 am which was just as well as all the sunbeds were full by about 10.30-10.45. We enjoy snorkelling and we saw more here than anywhere else we have visited in Cyprus including Ayia Napa, Nissi, Protaris, Coral Bay and Paphos. There were many fish along the rocks in front of the lifeguard hut and in the sheltered area surrounded by rocks on the left of the beach. However, after swimming out a bit further and then on round the corner to the left and in to the shallow waters by the far cliff we found a number of turtles feeding, one really large one and several smaller ones. We loved watching them come up to breathe with their little heads poking up through the surface of the sea. Round that same side of the beach we also saw a Lion Fish which are not indigenous to the area and are very venomous and presumably arrived in the area via the Suez Canal. They are not aggressive so will not approach you and will tend to keep their distance but you need to be aware that there could be one in that area and be careful not to touch them. The water is crystal clear and calm and the bay itself is beautiful. We were staying on the outskirts of Ayia Napa and a taxi for 5 people cost us 15 euros although I think you could get there by bus as well. There are toilets, watersports and a cafe/bar also at the beach. Would strongly recommend

Difficult for me to review Konnos Beach! While it is for sure very beautiful and makes good photos (interesting shade of blue of the water, rocks around), I feel like there are much better beaches in the region such as Nissi Beach which has a much larger area. In Konnos Beach, everyone was packed, there was barely any space to swim and to put your towel on the sand. And we are talking about October during Corona time. There is a small restaurant there with very expensive prices and you pay 50 cent for a shower that lasts 20 seconds. So for me Konnos Beach is only good to start your hike through Cape Greko.

A nice beach around Aiya Napa. In mid April it wasn't crowded at all. You can walk from there to the Cape Greco National Park.
There are beds to rent for 2.5 euro each, similarly to other beaches around. Toilets available and a Kiosk and Restaurants around. There is a walk to go down to the beach that is a little steep if you come by bus. If you come with a car you can get directly to rhe beach.

Lagoon has a solid beach and very nice water.
Main disadvantage that beach is being too overcrowded ( even during Covid19 season).
I would recommend visiting Ayia Thekla beach instead or Nissi beach.
PS: in general I would avoid eating in almost all beach clubs, they are overpriced and food quality is way too bad.
Enjoy your stay 🇨🇾😎

Be careful with your personal belongings on the beach. The staff who rents out sun beds and umbrellas did not return the lost items. the person in charge of the blue lounger area is very rude to everyone.
Будьте осторожны с личными вещами на пляже. Персонал который сдает в аренду лежаки и зонтики не вернули утерянные вещи.

We took the bus from the centre and had the day at the beach. We reached it from the road and walked down the big stepped path, renting the sunbeds like all of Cyprus’ beaches.
It was lovely, very picturesque but the choice of snack bar for food and drinks was limited to one and it was expensive, as should be expected in such circumstances but still a bit disappointing.

Really enjoyed this day trip to Konnos Beach with daughter and hubby for its golden sands, crystal clear water and options for water sports! Mikes water sports offer so many great options for couples or families and friends. Hubby and daughter did paddle boarding and in this protected bay they mastered standing really well and a fun time was had by all. The Kiosk also serve some tasty food with a panoramic view of the bay not to be beaten.
Such a special place!

OVERCROWDED! This beach is further away from Aiya Napa than all the other beaches and when you arrive there is no single chair or a parasol. Also, there wasn't even a beach bar so we couldn't refresh ourselves and we had to go back and pay for bus/taxi for a second time. Generally speaking, Cyprus has a big problem because of overcrowded beaches, locals capture chairs early in the morning so it's dificult to get one, also puts a lot of pressure on you to get up very early which is unpleasant since you are on a holiday and came to relax here

Hello. Arriving tomorrow. What time are the loungers and umbrellas normally set up from? Is it still €2.50 for each?

Can you get down to the beach without using the steps. Have a bad hip so trying to avoid steps if possible

There are steps the further up the hill you park. If you go early you should be able to park at the bottom (just a few steps down to the beach from there).

So actually on the beach at Konnos bay, there is a small cafe. However when we visited in May they were re doing it all, so there was a temporary cafe, you could still order food and drink there

Aw sorry but it is our second home, so we really do only let our close friends and family use it. We have been bitten in the past and the place was wrecked. If you do a little search for holiday lets though, you will find thousands of options suitable for just the 2 of you. Our place is for 6 people and priced as such, so you would be better off getting a smaller, cheaper option anyway. Good luck, you will love Konnos xx
