You must visit this when visiting Ayia Napa. This Greek Orthodox monastery is like stepping back in time. We were fortunate to visit it at the end of the season so it was relatively quiet. Strange to find so much history in the middle of a bustling holiday centre.

One thing worth visit is Ayia Napa monastery, still keeping its beauty from the 15th century past. Anyway, I know how it looks when crowded with teenagers drunk or stoned, rolling on the streets and flashing body parts, but it isn't my cup of tea, so, I just passed, but you may see more at: see my profile picture.

This is a must visit when coming to Ayia Napa. Ayia means Saint in Greek. So it is St Napa. Which just an old fishing village in the past. Lots of history to explore.

Step back in time in this excellently preserved Greek Orthodox Monastery. It is peaceful and has a soul and an explosion of ancient architecture. Its not a tourist attraction per se so hasn't the 'baggage' that comes with it. Its free to enter and wander around and a very pleasant way to pass a cultural hour or so, well worth... More

Well worth a visit and it is like stepping back in time. There is also a massive tree outside the monastery which is over 300 years old with branches that are that heavy they have to be supported. Come out of the monastery and you are into the hustle and bustle of the present day Ayia Napa

Standing proudly in the middle of the main square, the charming Medieval monastery of Ayia Napa was built in the form of a Medieval castle around 1500 A.D and is dedicated to ‘Our Lady of the Forests’ – named because the area was once forestland. The ancient sycamore tree in front of the south gate is believed to be over... More

Some moments of peace in the heart of the party place of Ayia Napa.. In a very good condition and atmosphere... Something different reminds to the tourists that this place is not only party and drinks but it has culture and deep history... Very inspiring for photo sessions as well :)
