- Jane2019United Kingdom9 contributionsAn outstanding riding stables! What an amazing set up. Bev is an English instructor with a large stables and an excellent staff. The teamwork is exceptional. I took several lessons and did some rides out. You would be hard pressed to find a better teacher. Bev tuned into my strengths and weaknesses and I made huge strides in both my understanding and my riding. I will definitely return here when I come back to the Algarve. Just a fantastic experience that I can thoroughly recommend.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten February 8, 2024
- Jacqueline H1 contributionFabulousI enjoyed the most fantastic ride through the beautiful woodland and along the stunning sea shore as described on the website. Daniel was the perfect companion and the lovely mare Carina looked after me as Bev had promised. The most memorable time which I hope to repeat in not to a distant futureVisited May 2024Traveled soloWritten May 3, 2024
- nicolasf946Greater London, United Kingdom2 contributionsFantastic TimeI booked in with Bev for a couple of complete novice lessons just to see how I got on. Firstly, I was pleased to see and hear how the welfare of the horses was a top priority. They appear well cared for and looked after. Secondly, I am grateful to Bev for her time teaching me the very basics of horse riding. I enjoyed the two lessons, and will make sure I book well in advance before my next trip to the resort. Many thanks. NickVisited July 2024Traveled soloWritten July 18, 2024
- rachel g1 contributionWonderful place to rideI had an amazing time riding at Pinetrees. The horses are beautiful and so well looked after. Beverley heads the team and is professional and really knowledgeable - she gave me some great tips - and all the staff are friendly and helpful. I went for a ride through the pine forest and even tried a few jumps, it was great fun. Would highly recommend.Visited August 2024Traveled soloWritten August 16, 2024
- kateneilsonSouthport, United Kingdom6 contributionsFantastic ExperienceJust got back from two weeks in Vale do Lobo and this was the highlight of the holiday. My son (14) and myself originally booked the ‘Pinetrees Experience’ which is 30 minutes lesson followed by 30 minutes nature walk and based on this we then booked a package of lessons for the rest of the holiday. Bev is a fantastic teacher and tailored our lessons and rides out to our individual needs. She gave us some great tips to improve our riding and made the lessons fun and informative. The horses are extremely well cared for and when it was too hot for them to go out, the lesson was rearranged. By the end of the holiday we were part of the furniture and we will already miss Bev, the lovely staff and of course, Tarzan the dog! We will definitely be back.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 27, 2024
- Joanna D3 contributionsExcellent riding experienceThe horses at Pinetrees are obviously loved & well cared, extremely important. They are also well-schooled and responsive to riders. We are a mother (rode regularly as a child but not since) and daughter (recently begun weekly lessons). Bev took care of both our needs and gave us a useful & enjoyable lesson. We did the Pinetrees Experience - lesson & ride out, 60 mins total. There were assistants with lead ropes when necessary & Bev gave us useful tips to mount & improve our seat. The ride out was enjoyable with herbs and local flora pointed out to us. It wasn’t quite as rural as I expected hence the 4 stars. We will go again if we can - thank you Bev, Carina, Count and the team!Visited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 3, 2024
- GoPlaces396548194811 contributionGreat experience- Sept 2024I had a great ride at Pinecliffs with will ride there again in the future. Bev gave a good briefing before we saddled up and covered some important safety notes. All the horses in the yard were well cared and I was super happy with the horse they chose for me and my riding experience.Visited September 2024Traveled soloWritten September 28, 2024

My 14-year old daughter has been going to pinetrees for 8 years and absolutely loves it. Bev’s lessons are very good and she explains things in a way that my daughter understands why she has to do things in a certain way. She always says she learns more in about 5 lessons in Portugal than in a whole year at home!

Having just completed ten riding lessons at Pinetrees Riding Centre I feel compelled to write and recommend. Bev, owner and instructor, was fantastic at adapting the pace of learning so that it was both manageable and fun. The horses are all lovely and so well cared for. All the equipment was provided and this was of an excellent quality. I had a fabulous time both riding in the arena and exploring the beautiful countryside. I can’t wait to return - thank you Bev and all of your team.

Just had a fantastic few days riding at Pinetrees. The other members of my party were all playing golf and Bev was so accommodating in finding me times that matched their tee times. From the moment I arrived everyone was so helpful and friendly, I was greeted by a very helpful and friendly Keira who was on work experience. I started with a 30 minute lesson with Maria & Bev so they could assess me and match me with the right horse, which also served me well for the hacks as my bad habits were corrected and front of mind so I rode well. As I did four days Bev planned in different routes, some woodland and some beach. My favourite was the ride to the beach on Count, led by Daniel. I met some other lovely riders too and at the end of every ride I was invited to join the team for a drink and a natter, where I got some great recommendations for restaurants, taxis, days out, wine tasting and more!
I can highly recommend Pinetrees and would love to return in the future.

My 8 year old rides often at home (UK) and on holiday. These stables are wonderful. Extremely patient, encouraging staff with bags of experience they are happy to share with youngsters. I would not hesitate to recommend

My company organised a retirement bash to Villamoura for my retirement. Sue (Suzy) Rosie and myself chose to do some riding while we were there and chose Pinetrees riding centre to ride from. Which was the right decision. Bev was easy and straightforward to deal with when making the booking a few months in advance. The horses were very good, forward going and Bev's tips and advice were useful and and appreciated, her local knowledge gave added interest during the ride out. Would highly recommend! We will be back!

I did a 2 hour hack with Daniel around the pine forest, dunes and local area. After great communications with Bev she matched me to a great little horse and we had lots of fun. I was also able to borrow jods, boots and a hat which saved my holiday luggage allowance. I am an experienced rider and would recommend to any other experienced riders who are wanting a great ride and not a steady trek.

A very nice ride out through the forest with Bev (the owner) and one other staff getting to know the trails. The trails are nice, and Bev is a wealth of knowledge about her horses, the area and its history. She’s an experienced judge of a riders ability and she picks the pace appropriately. The horses are healthy and well cared for, and the staff/volunteers were all happy to be there. I’d definitely recommend highly!

If you find yourself in the ‘Golden Triangle’ of the Algarve. Then add this to your itinerary. My three teens and I booked a 60 minute ‘Pinetree Experience’ where Beverley gives a 30 min introduction of intricate understanding of the principles of Horse riding to set you up for the additional 30 min ride out into the surrounding terrains to absorb the sun and nature with your new allocated horse. This is unlike any other horse riding experience you book on your holiday experience. Additional to this is the lovely friendly team available assisting too. So good my son and I booked again the following day ( other two could not get up early after an highly active day). Nothing was repeated from the previous experience which was unexpected, but found so lovely and considerate. Thank you Beverley for adding the extra touches. Look forward to the next holiday and booking more

Is there beach rides available April 2017 please anywhere
Written April 10, 2017
I am quite sure that the team at Pinetrees can provide you beach rides :) Just look at the website and ask the owner, she is a really kind person who answers your questions immediately. It will be a two/ three hours ride and is definitely worth it! I loved the landscape and views :)

Hi
How far are the stables from Vilamoura as will have to arrive by taxi? Also what does the 2 hour ride entail?
Written May 6, 2015
Hi, the stables are only about 20 minutes drive from Vilamoura. As I understand it, there are a choice of rides to take. The ride I took started with a quick test in the arena. Then we rode out, crossing through the local smart residential area. We rode down to visit the lake and spot the wildlife and then through pine trees to look out points to get beautiful views out over the ocean. The ride looped on and round through the sandy pine forest, with some trots and canters, to bring us back to the stables in a 'circular' ride. I got the impression the team at Pinetrees were very accommodating and flexible, adapting the ride to suit the rider's interests and experience. Hope this helps.
