I asked Martins Ebike to do a routine service of my bike as it had reached 1,300 km (very low mileage) and needed chain oil and clean. The bike was collected and I did not hear a thing from the store for 10 days, expecting a routine service to take 2 days I contacted them. Told the motor of bike was destroyed and as it was out of warranty would cost approx 900 eu to put right. The person I spoke to in the workshop was extremely rude and aggressive, I asked questions but could get no answers. I had used my bike the day before they took it and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it! Martin refused to communicate saying he will only respond by email to which he did not respond until I said I was taking him to Court!
My current situation: a bike that cost me 2,600 eu (in Martins shop) has now been in Martins workshop for over a month. I am waiting for response from the Portuguese complaints system and filing a claim with the EU small claims court. I have requested that Martin sends the opened destroyed motor to Bosch for examination but he has refused. I have no transport as that was my only transport and now spending a fortune on Uber/pubic transport. It is likely the legal process will take months to complete and I will have to purchase another bike to use in the meantime.
An extremely stressful experience. Please be careful if you have any dealings with this company. Particularly if you are handing over a much loved bike......

Ordered a part for my ebike and paid €405.26 on the 12/05/21. Was told the part had to come from Holland but might be in next Friday or Monday. On Tuesday I emailed and enquired about my part. Responce it will be in Friday or Monday. On Tuesday I emailed again and asked where my part was? Will be in Friday or Monday same reply. The part never left the warehouse in Holland. Cancelled the order and went to collect cash as Martin was not able to refund my credit card. When I entered the shop Martin the owner turn very aggressive and started shouting abuse at me. He stated that I was aF**King idiot and I was to get the f**k out of his shop. Reading other people's reviews I am not alone to be treated like this. It was my fault that his staff did not order the part that was paid for.

We hired 2 mountain bikes for 3 days from Martins E bike shop in Almancil – we picked them up in a dash on Saturday as the shop was just about to close and we needed them for the following day. When we got back to the campsite we found several problems with the bikes. Both bikes had extremely dirty chainsets / front and rear mechs - they had obviously not been cleaned, serviced or oiled for a long time, on one of them the drivetrain was actually rusty. The gear changes were very notchy and inconsistent. We resolved to clean and oil them ourselves as the shop was now closed. In addition to this issue, on one bike the front wheel skewer / quick release lever was loose (dangerous but easily resolved) and the lock out on the front suspension didn’t work, making it quite hard work during our on-the-road segments. Finally, the front mech on my wifes’ bike failed halfway through our last day, meaning that we couldn’t do the route we had planned.
When we reported these issues to the representative who came to collect the bikes, he called the shop and handed the ‘phone to us so we could speak to Martin himself. Martin was initially defensive and borderline aggressive, saying that he was upset that we were telling him he had rented us “old and crappy bikes” – his words, not ours. He did finally agree to look at the bikes when they were returned to the shop and promised to call back when he had done so – perhaps most disappointingly of all, he did not do this (or has not done so yet and it's been a week so far).
Overall a disappointing experience, will not rent from this shop again and would recommend any prospective customers check the bikes thoroughly before they take them away.

First of all thank you for your review. It's a pity we were not informed when you realized the bikes were not ok. Because even when the shop is closed our service goes on and we could have changed the bikes for you. As I explained already over the phone the bikes my colleague picked for you were the first ones in the row and unfortunately these were not serviced at all and one bike was even meant to be taken out our rental fleet because of aging. My colleague didn't knew otherwise she would not have given you these bikes. Our apologize for all the inconvenience and of course if we would have known we would have directly changed the bikes, but we were only informed of that when we picked the bikes up after you had extended the rental.

Martin runs a very professional team who make the customer feel welcome. If you ask him, Martin will also give a personal lesson in puncture repair ! We will return to rent our family cycles next year.

Excellent service. Good range of quality bikes, well serviced. Delivered to accommodation at the time agreed. When there was a small problems with one of the bikes, Martin arrived and replaced the bike within an hour or soak done with a great sense of humour!

We hired three Sensa Toscana carbon road bikes. The process was very efficient by email and the bikes arrived and were collected at exactly the scheduled times. The bikes were great quality and in great condition.

A simple holiday to the Algarve turned out to be a pretty active holiday. I was tired of walking around the cities so I decided to rent a bike. I found some flyers and I made a reservation, luckely they spoke Dutch. They just opened their shop so things were a bit hectic sometimes, yet Martin was realy friendly and willing to help.
When the bike got troubles he even came to pick me up and replacing the bike with a new one so i could continue my traveling.
This was around may,
Normally I would say that I would come back again, but this time i did. With my brother, added a photo of this time.
And I would come back for a third!

Hello Jan, We deliver in the whole Algarve our bikes. A price for a month is more or less € 400,- incl. delivery and pick up in Albufeira. For a complete quote we need all details per e-mail.

Hello Dave. Bedankt voor je vraag. Via onze abside kun je ook de kosten van transport uitrekenen zodat je een mooi overzicht hebt van de kosten. Omdat Olhos D A'gua (tarief gelijk aan Albufeira) niet erg dichtbij zit voor ons rekenen wij een bedrag van € 35,- per rit. Als we ritten kunnen combineren dan komt het voordeel aan onze klanten toe. Helaas weten we dat pas als wij meerdere boekingen hebben. Mocht je nog vragen hebben dan hoor ik dat graag. Veel plezier, Martin
