We booked with Blu Puffins on the occasion of the cruise leg with MSC Preziosa in Honningsvåg. We chose the departure of 19:30 the last of the day to try to see the sunset in the North Cape and we succeeded! Sebastian our Guide changed the itinerary according to the weather forecast to allow us to take full advantage of the time available which was supposed to be three hours and instead it was almost 4! We had everyone on board at 1:30 so we had a good margin of time and he knew it. We really enjoyed the fact that there was no stopwatch, we could do everything with extreme calm. We visited a fishing village and learned a lot about local life, saw and touched giant crabs with detailed explanations, stopped at a Sami village with attached minishop and saw reindeer up close. We watched the sunset at the North Cape and entered the observatory for free as it was included in the ticket. The bus was large and also equipped with bathroom. Sebastian spoke all the time telling us stories of personal experience both past and present, how it was to fit in work and personally in Norway and many historical and geographical hints as well as everyday life of the beautiful places we visited. We also stopped to take some breathtaking panoramic shots and at the end of the tour we were given a nice and welcome local gastronomic gift.
I can only recommend it, you can see that he does the job with extreme passion and positive energy and transmits it all!
Congratulations 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💯

This company is a class act. We had booked a North Cape tour with Blue Puffin, as well as a tour of Tromso. Our ship was prevented from landing at Honningsvag due to high winds. Within two days, we had 90% of our booking fee refunded, no questions asked. Two days later, we took their Tromso tour, and had a great time with Monika. We were terribly disappointed at missing North Cape, but totally impressed with Blue Puffin company, and I recommend this company to those of you looking for a shore excursion in Honningsvag or Tromso

Was in Honningsvag on Island Princess on 19 June. Researched excursion options before trip and easily picked Blue Puffin for trip to North Cape. Cruise ship alternative was a bare-bones unescorted out and back with no stops and at a higher price. Company owner and tour guide (Monika) was all you could wish for in a guide. Personable, knowledgeable and professional. The local stops in the fishing village of Vassvikveien and the King Crab show-and-tell were extremely memorable. Overall great tour. No wonder 98% of the reviews were Excellent.

We booked a tour with Blue Puffin online when we reserved our fjord cruise, as they were highly recommended in several cruise groups. We opted for the minibus tour, which had 14 people, and our guide was Lucia. She was incredibly knowledgeable and shared a wealth of information with us.
The tour included several stops in charming fishing villages and other locations perfect for capturing the stunning sunset. What impressed us the most was the professionalism and dedication of this tour operator. They truly care about ensuring the best possible experience for their guests. For instance, we made a slight change to our itinerary, visiting the North Cape before the village to avoid the bad weather that was approaching.
We highly recommend Blue Puffin to anyone looking for a reliable and professional tour operator. Thank you for an amazing experience!

We booked the minibus/van tour and were told it would be a group of about 15 people. A few days before the tour we were sent a picture of where they would meet us when we got off the cruise ship.
Although we were at the meeting spot (along with two other families), they were not. My husband noticed that, among all the large cruise tour busses, (which were not parked at the meeting point) were two tour busses with the name Blue Puffin.
When we walked down to one of the busses and stood in line while others got on, we gave our name to the guide. We were then told we were on the OTHER tour bus. We then stood in line again. When we gave the second guide our name, I asked if the bus was for the group that was for no more than 15 people. He told me yes, but they had a few extra bookings. There were probably 45 people on each tour bus.
Prior to booking the tour I asked if the transportation would be something a person with a slight balance problem would have difficulty with. I was told the busses were handicapped-accessible. There were two entrances to the bus, one had very steep stairs, the other was like a traditional bus, but with a short railing on only one side. If you needed a railing on the other side, all you had was a chair that moved if pressure was put on it. Getting off the bus required you to lean down to reach the short railing.
Each person needed to wear a seatbelt on the bus. We are not heavy people. We have never had problems in cars or airplanes. Each of us (our specific party was 3 people) could barely get the belt buckled.
When we got to the North Cape, we were told we had about one and a half hours, and the guide would be waiting at the bus (I’m case we weren’t sure which Blue Puffin bus we were on). We had a wonderful time at the North Cape without the guide. We walked back to where the busses were parked about 5-10 minutes before the scheduled time. The guide was nowhere in sight - he showed up about 10 minutes after we were asked to be back. A line had already been formed because nobody could get on until the guide unlocked the bus door. There was a separate driver that was already on the bus, but he wouldn’t let us on.
On the drive back the guide decided to “advertise” a book he had just written and told people how much the book was.
If you want to go to the North Cape, skip the tour and just take a bus transfer there.

We were recently in Norway on a cruise and booked the Tromso by minibus and North Cape Sightseeing Tours. Both tours were excellent.
For Tromso, we were promptly picked up at the port and were on our way. We stopped at many lookout spots for picture taking of the breathtaking scenery. At one of the stops, Monika had a delicious snack of smoked salmon accompanied by a warm beverage. She was our driver and she had a guide, Viktor, who explained Norwegian history. Of course Monika added additional information when it pertained to her experiences. They both had a great sense of humor which added to the experience. Other stops included the dog sledding at Tromso Wilderness Center and the Arctic Cathedral. The former included another snack and beverage.
Sebastian was our guide for the trip to the North Cape. As we were departing the port, he informed us that we would be heading straight to the North Cape because of incoming weather. He advised us to walk around the exterior then do the visitor’s center and I’m grateful for that advice. After taking the scenic pictures, we headed inside to view the short film. Admission to the visitor’s center is included in your tour. Sebastian timed it perfectly because as we exited the visitor’s center, the fog had rolled in and you couldn’t see more than 10 feet in front of you. We had stops at a fishing village, a king crab stop and the Sami settlement. He also offered us a snack of dried reindeer meat.
Both tours were excellent and informative and I highly recommend them. Monika and Sebastian have many years experience in the tourism field and know how to deliver 5* tours. Their tours are unique and personal and the background knowledge they have from living there gave an interesting perspective.

In June 2024 we arrived with the ms Rotterdam of the Holland America Line in Honningsvag. Prior to our cruise we booked the North Cape Sightseeing Tour for three persons with Blue Puffin.
We had an unforgettable tour. Our guide Lucia told a lot about the North Cape, way of living above the artic circle, fishing and many other interesting facts. We had plenty of time to look around at the North Cape, in a fishing village and during the king crab experience. We also visited the Sámi and became acquainted with the reindeer herding.
All of us enjoyed the tour very much! We would really recommend it.
Kind regards from the Netherlands.

My review is quite mixed. First, we were on the Rotterdam. There were 2 Blue Puffin buses in the terminal area. I had all my discussions with Sebastian, the owner. I am 78 year old woman with mobility issues. I told this to Sebastian when I booked.
The good:
He was so helpful when Holland America changed our arrival in Honningsvag. He even responded while on vacation. I requested the private tour in the smaller van, since I am a slow walker and I was booking for my family of 3 other couples. Sebastian assured me I would have no problems, that we could all sit together.
Sebastian is quite the entertainer. It was fun just listening to his life story. He could talk for long periods of time, telling stories about the area, fishing villages, Norwegian winters, etc. but his stories weren’t just idle rambling.
All 7 in my group throughly enjoyed listening to him.
The bad:
I was to have 7 seats reserved at the front since I needed a handicap seat. When we boarded, those seats were taken by, according to Sebastian, someone who got motion sickness. I could see they had folded the handicap sign and put it in a pocket.
I moved to the next available seat, and across from me was a saved sign, I assumed for one of the couples in my group. A couple jumped up from the back and took it. When I said it was reserved for my family they ignored me.
It was downhill from there. Generally, your seat is your seat for the tour. There was so much jumping around. Sebastian should have taken control, but instead he said something about “make a new friend we will be at the next stop in about 15 mins.
I wrote to Sebastian and he indicated this had never happened and he didn’t know how to handle it.
When I asked my family to rate the private tours, this was at the bottom due to the bad experience on the bus. Because of this, I couldn’t sit near my family.

During our cruise with the Mein Schiff 3 to the North Cape from March 3, 2024 - March 17, 24, we went on 2 great trips in Honnigsvag to the North Cape and in Tromsö to the fjords and a huskies sleigh tour with Blue Puffin.
Because of Blue Puffin's good recommendations and informative website, we had booked the excursions 8 months earlier. Everything was communicated well via email in advance, with various questions. Both excursions were the absolute highlight of our trip.
We had unforgettable, beautiful impressions and received a lot of interesting information during the excursions. The tour in Tromsö in particular was great, as we were only a small group of around 16 people and were driven in a high-quality Mercedes minibus. We were also lucky enough to have Sebastian, the owner of Blue Puffin, as our tour guide. He gave us excellent information about the country and its people and showed us many beautiful viewpoints.
In addition to the 30-minute wonderful sleigh tour, the Huskies also had a delicious meal and drinks in a rustic hut. Everyone enjoyed it and was thrilled.
The price-performance ratio was absolutely fair and not overpriced. We saw and heard a lot more about the country and its people than on an organized excursion by TUI Cruises, as our tour lasted not 3 1/2 but 5 1/2 hours.
We have already taken many wonderful trips around the world with various operators. Blue Puffin is definitely one of the TOP 3!!!
We can fully recommend this great organizer and wish the company continued good luck and success and all excursionists as much fun and joy as we had! We will definitely book there again on our next trip to the far north!!! 😉👍🍀

Today we again met up with Monika , now co owner of Blue Puffin tours, after meeting her in 2017 on a tour to Northcap.
Monica and her other guide, Michael, shared Tromso and it’s outer islands with us and a group of Germans.
All our communications with Monika from the time of making our booking until pickup today were clear and precise.
The van for our group of 16ish was very comfortable.
Both Michael, who shared the stories in both German and English and Monika ,who drove and guided us in English, did a fantastic job today.
We got the opportunity to swim, if we were game, in the cold waters of a beautiful fjord followed by hot black currant juice and cookies and snacks.
As in 2017, Monika went above and beyond in accomodating our extra requests today and her customer service is worlds best.
We are really looking forward to tomorrow doing a tour of Northcap , again with Blue Puffin tours and this time with Monika’s co owner and husband , Sebastian.
I can absolutely recommend Blue Puffin tours in Tromso and Northcap to any venturing to this part of the world, either independently or by cruise ship

Do we meet a Sami family or just see roaming reindeer?
Written November 27, 2022
We didn’t actually meet a Sami family but there was an outpost with Sami selling reindeer related trinkets. You could have struck up a conversation if you wanted. They had deer in a fenced field.

Is there always a stop at the King Crab place? We are vegan and don't really want to see crabs being farmed... I know it's a way of life there, but we don't want to just be sat on a bus on our own!

I am not sure. Contact Monica for advice. There is a nice little Cafe where you could sit while you waited instead of on the bus. It is not a long stop.

Hello,
I am wondering, if this question is for us, and at the same time, we often have travelers joining our North Cape Sightseeing tours, who arrive with one of the MSC ship in Honningsvåg.
I believe that we offer more than the tours sold on board for both reasons: our guides and for what you will see on our tours.
Maybe other travelers can answer your questions a bit better.
Please feel free to contact us, if you have any other questions.
Kind regards,
Sebastian

Thanks for your message.
Sorry to say, but I do not speak Italian. Nevertheless, I speak Spanish (which is a bit similar as you know) and can understand you.
I see that we also received and e-mail from one of your group members with the same tour request. I have already answered. Let's continue this conversation by e-mail. Thanks for understanding.
