Laura and Daniele were great hosts. Daniele led the ride, starting at their shop in Torre del Colle, across the valley, and then climbing to Spello. After Spello, at our option, we chose to ride the steep winding road to Collepino on the shoulder of Mt Subasio. We made it (three 60-somethings in decent shape but not athletes), with lots of spirited encouragement and Italian music from Daniele. The e-bikes helped a lot, although most of the work still comes from you so don't underestimate the challenge. After Collepino we reaped the reward of a thrilling coast down and to the winery (Tili Vini). Five minutes before we got there the skies opened up, but the four drowned rats were warmly welcomed and enjoyed excellent organic wines accompanied by interesting discussion of their growing methods and excellent food. In light of the weather, Laura picked up the bikes with their van and we ended the ride there. So worth it!!
