The best beach of the island by far, but also the busiest one. By walk it takes about 15 minutes from the street down to go there. It opens at 8.30.
If it is constantly rated the best beach in 'Europe' it must be a reason!
The water and colour of the sand are so unique. Speechless.
Lampedusa has also the advantage of having a convenient airport to travel from Catania or Palermo, and the norther airports on summer time.

Crowded, long walk, but definitely worth to visit! Prepare yourself with snack and water, plan to stay longer as the walk is quite long. Better if you have a closed shoes with you for the walk. Spectacular view, crystal clear water. Few jellyfishes, but you need to be careful with the transparent ones, the big browns with blue dots are harmless, so much that you can actually touch them (not sure how much they like that though...)

We visited Lampedusa during our trip to Sicily a few years ago. This is by far the most beautiful beach I have been on earth. Crystal clear blue/green water which you can walk in for half a mile, sand bars everywhere. I cannot begin to describe how beautiful this place was.
When I was there, there were absolutely no facilities, no restaurant, water, bathroom facilities, nothing just a bare beach. We did not know about this, but the wonderful lady who drove us there stopped by her house, and got water, fruits and snacks for us. We didn't know why, as I was so sure that there will be a restuarant by the beach. There was a place, but it turned out to be the private house, and then we were so thankful for the water and snacks.

Lampedusa is one of the Pelagie
Islands. The Archipelago is in the Mediterranean sea, not too far from the south coast of the Sicily island, in the Agrigento area.

The beach may be nice but you really should do some research before going to this island. Seems that there are many problems with illegals coming in on boats day after day, this makes some of the locals less than friendly to anyone not from the island. it also causes some issues that are not what most look for in vacation spots. Again, check the web and research the island for more on this.

We went twice during our 1 week stay in Lampedusa - August 2007: the first time we arrived really late in the morning and with no beach umbrella... there's no car park so you need to park along the road and we were far away under the sun so no good...the second day was just amazing as we were well organized!
We arrived early in the morning so to park our car near the beach. Bring with you a hat and comfortable shoes as there's a dirt slope to reach the beach, don't worry just 5 minutes walk under the sun but it really worth your while, moreover there's a breathtaking sight.
Bring with you a beach umbrella or you can easily rent it there (sunbed too). Bring also water and some food as there's no bar or restaurant there - you can buy arancini and focaccia from Lampedusa town you'll love it!
The sand is white and the water so clean and crystal clear! It's just unique! while you walk into the water loads of fish swim around you.
If you are lucky you might also see some turtle nests.

We had read about Rabbit Beach and seen some photos, but the reality is even better and the day we spent there was very special indeed. The area is well maintained and people are very responsible - even with their cigarettes, so no litter at all.
No turtles were there - several people said they had seen them in nearby Linosa island.
There are no facilities on the beach, steep climb with seating areas to rest, but there is
an excellent cafe/bar at the bus stop (60cents anywhere on the island on two routes) car & scooter parking area.
The people who maintain the beach and re-planted cliffs have an information tent on the beach.

We visited the beach in January, so there was empty and quiet. Need to go quite far down, so to return back must have the strength to climb up again. The descent not adapted for disabled. The place is with white sand and stunning views of the sea

A place which will remain in your memory, but don't go in the middle of August. Far too many people! Remember to bring with you everything you might need, you won't find anything there, except for the incredible beauty of the beach. And be ready for quite a long walk!

Crystal clear water, white sandy beach, and fun to explore! Hours are 8:30 - 19:30 and I suggest you get there early to get a good stop. The beach is separated in two areas: one for umbrellas and one that umbrellas aren't allowed. We rented a scooter to avoid the hourly bus schedule, which I assume can get busy at peak times. Also, since the trek to/from the beach from the road/bus stop is about 15 minutes (depending on your photo op stops/fitness level), you may want to opt to bring a picnic. There is a small restaurant if you don't. We didn't eat there. The water is shallow pretty far out so you can walk for quite a while without swimming. This is nice because there is plenty of room for the people to spread out. There are quite a lot of jellyfish so be weary. I got stung on the finger. Not a big deal :). Lots of fish that can get pretty big, which was cool. Snorkeling looked fun, but the fish aren't colorful so we didn't do it. We did bring floaties, which was a great buy. Lovely to float in the clear water and relax. Be prepared for no amenities. Overall, a lovely beach!
