Great walk today to Peak Head..bit of rock scrambling at the end to get to the summit which could be trickier in wet conditions but the views were breathtaking..many whales spouts spotted to and from..tired legs at the end but both kids (15 and 9) managed well..walking time of 2 hours return was on the money for us

What a spectacular area with amazing views all around the coastline including the town of Albany. We were both impressed with the granite outcrops and the added bonus was the vegetation in the area which was in all it's glory. An easy walk even for my husband using a walking stick and well worth the effort.

Definitely turn in after the whaling station to check this gem of a place out. Stunning views all around. Though it got the mother in me a little worried with the kids but as long as they do not go too bear the edge its pretty ok. Parents shd keep kids who would wander off on a tight hold. We even saw a whale all the way out in a distance....unforgettable spot.

Visited on Monday 25th November. It is a short circular walk and you are rewarded with amazing views of the coast and back towards Albany.

We enjoyed a brisk walk around sunset.
It is a smallish walk but it is good to allow time to enjoy the great scenery and views.
A few demanding spots but nothing difficult for regular walkers.
Was a good warm up for the Bald Head trail

A great form of enjoyable exercise! The views were wonderful as it was steep in parts. The beach on the open side was just magnificent and we sat on the glittering white sand to eat our meagre picnic. Would certainly do it again!

Bit of a longish rough trail walk for some astonishing views of the park and cape. Well worth the effort and achievable by all fitness levels if you have the will. Bring water as there is no shade.

Don't waste time doing anything important when there is a sunset you could be enjoying.
Take your wine and cheese, grab a blanket and watch as the sun sets over the Southern Ocean.

Stony Hill is located in Torndirrup National Park, and well worth a quick visit.

To get here, from Frenchman Bay Rd, take the turn off to Stony Hill, and follow the winding bitumen road uphill for a couple of kilometres to the hilltop, where you'll find a parking area.

From the parking area there's a delightful 15 minute walk trail that goes in a loop. Along the way there are a number of signs giving information about the history, plants, wildflowers and more.

Just a few hundred metres from the start of the trail, you'll arrive at a massive granite rock, which was used as a lookout post in the world wars. Because of the location, it was possible to communicate from here all the way back to the military base at Mt Adelaide in Albany.

From these lookouts, you'll have magnificent views of the coast, and all the way back to Albany, so you'll see the Princess Royal Harbour, the surrounding beaches, and the rugged coastline of Torndirrup National Park. The two other places you'll get such views are from Mt Clarence and from Isthmus Hill (along the Bald Head track), but unlike those two, Stony Hill doesn't require any strenuous climbing, and can be accessed quite easily by most walkers, including the elderly.

For the 15-20 minutes it will take you to visit here, it's well worth visiting if you're visiting the Torndirrup National Park, especially with all stunning views in every direction. For those looking for a longer hike, there's also a walk track from here that will take you to nearby Peak Head, which I can also highly recommend, although it will require a greater level of fitness than this.

If you want a short (few hundred metres), easy but scenic family walk then this is for you.

The walk for minimal effort delivers 360 degree views over peninsulas, ocean, bush, the Stirling Ranges, Porongorups and all in all is scenic indeed.

People wanting a more bushwalking experience can push on to Peak Head.
