This amazing rock is quite the tourist attraction for photos. Shaped in the head of a labrador with traffic safety markings which look like a collar, it's fun to try and get photos with the rock in the background.

Everyone in Western Australia (WA) has heard of Dog Rock. Dog Rock is in a suburban area of Albany, it looks very convincingly like a dog, perhaps a Labrador. If you are nearby, go and see it. But it is, by some accident of fate, a rock that looks like a dog.

You cant miss it, just standing there on the side of the road. There are plenty of cool looking rocks around the area so get driving and find them.

We loved Dog Rock. The kids thought it was pretty cool and the were able to do a geocache as well. A good photo opportunity!

Apparently a boulder decided to roll down the mountain and wedge itself outside the city centre many many years ago. Looks like a dog's head and is a bit of a novelty. A quick drive past suffices ones curiousity.

Wonderful for kids to see - a dogs head made of rock. This has been there for as long as I can remember and is conveniently located in town.

Lime 303 in the Dog Rock Motel is a shining light for those that want something special. The Restaurant is beautifully decorated, with a small bar area to have pre-diner drinks. the wine list is fantastic & the menu excellent. The pricing is at the top end but is worth every cent. The Staff are friendly & knowledgeable & the... More

Looks like a giant golden retrievers head coming out of the ground its tail on the other side of the road (somewhere). A well known Albany landmark, noted in the diary of Charles Darwin in his visit to Albany in 1836. Best of the many rocks around Albany the oldest permanently settled town in West Australia.

Perfect natural stone image of a lovable pooch uplifted head. It made me smile so; will you too. Drive by or take a bus. You'll be glad you too have admired this very cool rock hound.

Dog Rock is a good place for taking photos , it really looks like a dogs head, along the coast there are many rocks and most of them have names after animals . The Rock is situated opposite the Dog Rock Motel
