Carved wood arts

Worth a visit. Look twice @ everything because you'll miss sculptures or carvings, especially the ones of birds in the trees. Some real old cars and other quirky objects. Honour box admission so take Your coins, no EFTPOS even close.

Outstanding

This place gets better and better every time I visit. A very creative and talented man. His chainsaw carvings are very good. Do yourself a favour and take a drive through and stop at his workshop/gallery for a chat.

Artistic brilliance
Sep 2021
We were put onto this gem of a spot by our host at The Beach hose at Bayside, Craig. he said it was a truly amazing experience and he was absolutely right. This is a drive-through property just a very short drive out of Albany town. It is a series of truly awesome sculptures in wood, done with a chain saw. The man who created this truly incredible art is a genius and his talent is on display for all to enjoy. A small donation, $5.00 per person, I think, is simply a steal considering the time, work and effort which has gone into creating this magical place.

Didn't want to go, ended up loving it.
Jul 2021
We loved it. I just wanted to pass some time with my sons (9 and 6) while my husband was in hospital. They complained, we went anyway, I gave them my phone to take photos, and we ended up doing three laps! Every time we went around, we saw something that we had missed previously. Sensible to put the donation box towards the end, because I didn't think it would be worth $5 (I know, cheapskate) but by the end, we put in more. We're visiting from Perth, and they want to go back tomorrow so "we can show dad". I would be happy to! Was raining, and it's a perfect rainy day activity as you're not allowed to get out of your car. Which was kind of a pity, as I would have loved some close up photos, even in the rain.

Little gem

Very clever drive through experience. Small but cool. Out of the way so need own vehicle. Worth the cash donation of $5 per adult

Creative drive
May 2021 • Couples
Chainsaw drive was a great showcase of a talented artist. Every piece of timber was carefully carved and created into a unique masterpiece. With a small donation of $5 per person it was definitely worth the drive around. A small drive out of the town centre, would highly recommend.

Very interesting and clever display

Certainly worth a visit and impressed by many sculptures which were skilfully done. It is a drive through exhibit and donation of $5 is encouraged but not enforced.

Something Different!
May 2021 • Couples
Having been to Albany a couple times previously, we were unaware of this attraction until our last trip in June 2021.

I thought the displays were all very, very good. It’s nice to appreciate someone’s skill developed over many years I’m sure.

We visited on a weekday and were the only ones there which enabled us to take our time. You drive up the driveway, do a loop towards the back of the property, and then return the same road; so you get a good visual on both sides of your vehicle.

There are many different sculptures including many animals, people, gnomes and some quirky pieces (chainsaw through the tree and the mushroom field come to mind).

Overall, we liked it a lot because it is something so different and unique to the expected Albany attractions.

Allow half an hour for a slow, leisurely drive, probably a little more with kids as there is a lot of pieces hidden and you only see the second time.
