Memorial Park
Jul 2020
Dotted around this tranquil woodland park, you will find remnants of the Australian Light Horse training camp who were based here in WW I. There are information boards located at the gateway before you start the walk, you will see horse troughs and the ruins of the camp hospital, as well as some Australian wildlife. If you pop into the information centre at Seymour you can pick up an information leaflet with a map.

A good place for a stroll

Some interesting history of the area which use't to be a large army base preparing troops for overseas deployment. Especially interested in the famous Light Horseman.

Think there is more to it...

Just a quick detour to have a squizz as we've driven past the entrance before.
Unfortunately time was again in short supply, but a quick walk about suggests there is a lot of historical paraphernalia and narration of times gone by to peruse.

A wonderful park setting with info and tributes to the Australian lighthorsemen. A bit of walking from the car park but worth the visit. The main memorial is only a short distance in

No doubt of the historical value ..But..bad signposting leaves you wondering whereto go next...an upgrade of info as to distances would settle the mind as to the worth of effort

When you pull in off the Goulburn Valley Highway you are greeted by a very well designed park area
The whole area is tastefully done to reflect the achievements of the Light Horse
Worth a visit and a walk

Great walk and an unexpected length but worth it for the diversity of the attraction and a good area for a break on a road trip

Good for military history
Sep 2018 • Couples
Good views from the top but tracks not that well marked and a little rough. Good information boards and plenty of tracks to explore.

Interesting
Jul 2018 • Couples
The park has some interesting facts on Army units that trained in this area for war. It's a great place to go for a walk with the dog and read the displays up to a nice lookout. Take it easy walking back down the hill or you might end up on your bottom from loose stones. In the scrub there are remains of old buildings and a grenade range.

Informative and very natural
Feb 2018
A walk around the park is relaxing and informative. For the move active a stroll to the top of the hill to the monument also gives a great view of the surrounding area.
