The Grotto is stunning, especially if you are able to descend the stairs and view it from eye level. The main boardwalk and gravel path from the car park are in good condition and are accessible for both pushchairs and wheelchairs, to the upper viewing platform. The information boards were faded and indistinct, making them hard to read.

If you start early from Melbourne at 5am.. you can cover the entire great ocean drive and cover 12 apostles area with proper stops at all sight seeing spots including the grotto. You need to walk a lot during this day visit. Its a long day trip and sight seeing activity. Beautiful scenic views and worth your travel of a long trip.

Take your time and allow a full day to see this entire area. If you don't take a tour, read up on this area and all the amazing places to visit. We were on a tour and pressed for time so we could only view from the lookout or walk down into the gorge.

The Great Ocean Road is full of weird and wonderful natural landscapes caused by the erosion of the coastline. There are plenty of arches, weird looking stacks out to sea and strangely worn rock formations. Few of them are able to be stood as near to as The Grotto and hence there can be a bit of a queue to get your photo chance.

However there is good parking nearby, only a short walk and it IS one of the few places you'll be able to get as close to one of these strange arches so children will enjoy it as well as the adults.

An easy stroll from the car park is well rewarded by the views and great photo opportunities. A bit surprised that a couple of people climbed over the wall into the water, particularly when signs said it was not allowed. Nonetheless once they were out of the way, it was one of the most picturesque attractions, and it was tempting to just stop and admire the view for way too long.

Probably our favourite, as it was much quieter than the Apostles, yet offered a more intimate experience.

Beautiful little spot in amongst some amazing coastline. Make sure you take the time to stop in amongst all the other great sites in the area. Just watch out for tourists trying to take selfies with kissy faces - ugh!

This attraction is definitely one you don't want to miss out of the all the attractions on the Great Ocean Road. If you are short on time make sure you include this one. It is a short walk from the carpark down stairs and offers a few different vantage points to get some good photos. The reflection in the Grotto's waters with the wild sea in the background makes for an excellent photo.

Shortish walk to the viewing area maybe 10 mins.  There are some stairs so it's not pram accessible. Pretty unique site but you won't spend too much time here as there's only one thing to see.  Maybe 30 minutes overall here which includes the 20 mins of walking out and back.

Beautiful stop worth visiting. Has info boards on how the grotto was created, and there are many steps to go down to it, relatively easy walking. Would not like to do it in the busy season. Great views from the top, and of course when you get down to the grotto. Super pretty stop, well worth doing.
