Beautiful waterfall surrounded by lots of greenery. Was a nice walk down to the falls, however going back up the stairs was a hike! Totally worth it though. Be wary, parking is along a one way track and may be hard to find a spot.

Visited these falls at the end of November and the water was gushing over. See my photo.

I'd ignore the negative comments from people about these not being worth a visit. I didn't read or expect them to be the best in the country like other reviewers.

These are a very nice waterfall and yes there are steps to climb. A lot actually. The path is good condition, but can be slippery when wet. It is basically blue stone so no mud or dirt at all.

I would recommend visiting before 11am, as the crowds start to roll in from then and parking space would be hard to find after that time.

Worth a short walk.

Another visit to Erskine Falls was a must. Make sure to arrive early to avoid big crowds and be able to actually see the falls rather than other people stumbling over rocks to get a better photo and usual ‘naturalists’ who undress to bathe under the falls. For best colours & to sit and relax go to the left right hand corner, there are logs to sit & relax. No toilets here but you can stop at a little picnic area on the way up (toilets & picnic tables)

As soon as you arrive and try to open your car doors you are attacked by huge numbers of horse flies and mosquitoes.
Make sure you cover yourself in insect repellent before leaving Lorne!
Small view of waterfall from top viewing platform...better from the bottom but think about 350 large steps ! Beware if you have heart problems as it will be pumping hard by the time you climb back up 😬.
They warn that it's slippery after rain , so be careful if it's wet.
Take water. It might not be far but if it's hot you will appreciate a drink half way back.
Lot's of people were rock-hopping at the bottom, if this is your thing, wear suitable footwear.
Enjoy 😊 !

Beautiful waterfall not far from Lorne, the walk down the steps and back up again is a bit tricky but worth it. The views of the trees, the birds and the falls is so peaceful. The lookout on top is also very good for people who cannot walk down the steps.

Because it was wet during the long weekend, we had to be more careful about making our way downhill the track. For those with leg problems or the elderly, unless fit, it is best they go slow or not try the trek down at all, it is about 200 metres from the entrance, but can still take a toll on the body. It was well worth the walk though, the waterfall is beautiful, but ensure you have appropriate footwear to step between tree roots and the rocks in the water.

Since I was last there, which was a few years ago, they have put in the brick steps.
Love the view and it was so popular.
Went down the river a little too and walked across the rocks.
There were a steady stream of people both up and down and taking photos at all the places provided.
This is a must see if you are in Lorne.
Cheers

Shortish drive from Lorne.
Carpark is mainly 20 max and falls view is 2-3 minutes easy walk away.
A better view is from the bottom though.
Bit of a walk but steps on the way up seem steeper than on the way down.
Views of the forest are worth it alone

My wife and I visited this place during our recent holiday in Lorne, where we stayed for three nights.

We have seen many waterfalls over the years travelling in various countries, including Niagara Falls in Canada.

Compared to other waterfalls in Victoria, Erskine Falls is relatively nice. We walked the two separate trails for the Upper Falls Lookout and the Lower Falls Lookout.
