Good For a Visit

Its a well stocked museum but I would have preferred less Ned kelly and more on Weary Dunlop or Captain Walker. Still definitely worth a visit.

Walked in and started to look about and was berated by one of the staff because we tried enter Museum section without paying, we didn't see a pay sign. No effort was made to look after us and we left; it may be a great museum if your made welcome.

The museum focuses on Ned Kelly and his gang, and on fashion, particularly ladies fashion, from the early 20th century through to the 1980's. Both areas are very informative and entertaining. It probably taken around 45 minutes or so, and is a good use of your time in this lovely little town.

This is a well presented regional museum. Ned Kelly's sash is the drawcard, but there are also very interesting and well presented costume exhibits, and displays of wartime memorabilia. Recommended.

A museum with unusual permanent displays catering for a range of interests. Permanent costume displays and Ned Kelly displays. One of the highlights was definitely the gigantic dolls' house with amazingly meticulous details, which would interest both kids and adults. We could have spent much longer there had we the time to. Very reasonable small entry fee. Highly recommended tourist... More

This museum is situated on the banks of the Broken River. Permanent displays of lace dresses, Ned Kelly's cell, his scarf, replica armour, facts and photos and his family history. There is also the "Weary" Dunlop display in the war room. Another room contains different displays. At the moment it is fashions of the 1970's...............very scary!

Just filling time before going for lunch. Very surprised. Will go back and spend more time there. The attention to detail and info was great.

We are locals and thought it would be an ideal place to take our 14 year old grand daughter while she was on holidays and staying with us. The ladies who volunteer there were really clued up on the exhibits and were a wealth of knowledge. We spent quite a long time looking round, and I think the highlights for... More

This country museum is one of the best I have been to. The exhibits capture the imagination and the memories of a time (and times) long gone. The staff were fabulous and my 12 year old daughter and I spent far longer than she would imagine possible wandering around and talking about all the exhibits. We especially loved the to-scale...
