It was a short but steep walk up to Whalers Lookout ... well worth the effort! Great (near) 360 degree views around Bicheno and up/down the east coast of Tasmania.

My husband and I walked up here this afternoon. It was a bit of a hard walk if you are not fit and young, up and you have to be careful coming down if you are older but, it was worth the effort. You get...More

One of the best views in Bicheno and aerial view of the town and stunning coastline is here at Whalers lookout! A gentle climb along a very well maintained path brings you up to two excellent platforms from which you enjoy the view and serenity!

The lady at the visitor information centre strongly suggested we climb to the top. It is a relatively easy walk from the visitor centre and once at the top you get a great view of Bicheno , Govenor Island and east to the Tasman Sea....More

This is a great short walk and not difficult at all. There's a stop off that overlooks the town and diamond island, very nice then the other one looks over the gulch and governor island. Mostly tree lined so a sunny day is no problem....More

Very easy climb up the mountain to the lookout. The track wandered around the hill with good lookout points. The problem here is where to park. Virtually no parking at this site. Area across road could be made into a few parking bays.

A short walk great for those pressed for time. Tàkes 15 to 20 minutes to visit both lookout platforms, take photos and walk the loop track. Definitely worth a look

This is a good lookout for a range of reasons; Firstly it is pretty much next to the heart of town. You can walk there from a number of accommodation options and if not there are a couple of parking bays at the base of...More
