Unique attraction located near entrance of Naracoorte caves. Definitely worth a look if time allows after you visit the caves

Just a few minutes out of town.

Just 10kms out of town just near the caves is this lovely little wood craft gallery, some really beautiful pieces, some big some small. Locally made. Lovely young girl served us and was happy to have a conversation.plenty of parking and free entry.

"Turn" your head with this woodwork magician

We decided to visit here instead of the caves and what a surprise it was. We had the gallery to ourselves and hence David Williamson to ourselves as well. He was a natural - a story-teller and a bag of laughs as well as a craftsman-extraordinaire. You could browse for hours and see something for every occasion, for every part of your home, for every gift. We found a delightful little red gum music box that played "Waltzing Matilda" for our daughter who now resides in the UK, a wine bottle stand that we had been looking for in vain for years and a few other small items (well, we were in a caravan and just didn't have the room to pack in some of the larger pieces that we coveted).

Miss this gallery and you miss one of the best attractions in Naracoorte and that's really saying something. Hidden away and you can literally smell the eucalypts which is so beautifully refreshing. Ahhhh.

Beautiful Woodwork

We travelled to the Wood Gallery with a special order, we needed a piece of Redgum to use as a Mantle piece above our wood fire. After a week or so we recieved a call and were extremely satisfied with the selected piece of redgum, made to size with an absolutely lovely finish. Great workmanship

We called in here after spending some time at the Naracoorte Caves. Beautifully crafted wooden items for sale. Friendly owner (and dog!).

Stop by when visiting the caves
Oct 2016 • Couples
Situated opposite the Naracoorte Caves entry, it is well worth a visit to appreciate the workmanship. Most would find something they would like to buy. Reasonably priced, and David was very welcoming and happy to have a chat.

Have been coming here for many years and never fail to be impressed. The redgum work by David is impressive and he's always happy for a chat to those who show a genuine interest. We always seem to walk out with something new.

Redgum & blackwood bits & pieces
Feb 2016 • Couples
David Williamson is a redgum timber enthusiast who is always ready for a chat about timber or any other subjects at his workshop opposite the entrance to the Naracoorte Caves - he's a source of local information and you can pick-up a nice redgum or blackwood momento at a good price - the timber furniture is most attractive
