About
Crabtree Watervale Wines produce small parcels of award winning handcrafted wines by people who love what they do. Visit our cellar door open seven days. Crabtree is a boutique estate winery, with the annual crush around one hundred tonnes. The tiny winery is at full capacity every vintage, and the wines very limited in production.

With so many vineyards to choose from in the Clare Valley we were happy to accept the recommendation from a local in Burra to visit Crabtree Watervale Wines cellar door just a short walk up the hill from the other gem in Watervale, the Watervale General Store.
Crabtree Watervale cellar door has a small and cosy air-conditioned indoor room and an outdoor covered terrace, both with gorgeous views over the vineyards and surrounding countryside. On the afternoon of our visit Petrie gave us a great cellar door experience with fun conversations to accompany our wine tasting, she was knowledgable about the vineyard and its wines and most friendly. Again many thanks Petrie for a delicious and relaxing experience. Highly recommend.

A small cellar door tucked away overlooking the beautiful vineyards. Good wine selection, their sweet muscat was the best. Good selection of chutneys, jams and marmalade. The lady was very friendly and welcoming.

After cycling from Clare we were greeted by Cheryl who sat us down with a more than ample first taster to prepare our palate and cool us down. The atmosphere was fantastic as there was a group of 5 ladies enjoying their tastings and as the area is relatively small everyone interacted with each other, unlike the larger wineries. We loved every wine we tasted especially their Watervale Riesling and of course their Grand Muscat! After our tasting we sat on the lounge chairs under the trees outside and had some nibbles we had taken with us. My husband enjoyed a cold wine and Cheryl gave me a wonderfully cold water. A must try is their 'Cleanskin' at only $10 a bottle. We liked this so much we went back for another one as we were leaving (by car) 2 days later. It amazed us that Cheryl immediately recognised us and made us feel special. We will definitely look for Crabtree wines in future to support this small winery.

We had visited here three years ago after the dreadful Clare Valley fires & were keen to come back when next in the Clare. We were greeted warmly by Rebecca, who was up to date with what was happening where we live, as well as where she lives. We enjoyed our tastings & ordered some very good red & white wines, including some bargains. We'll be back.

The wines here were the best we had in our day tasting through Clare Valley. The cellar door was exquisitely adorable, and the people hosting us were absolutely lovely. A must visit when looking for fabulous wines in Clare!

After having one of the Crabtree wines at friends thought we would check it out when next in the Clare Valley.
It is a small and cosy tasting area with all their wines to taste plus you can purchase other local produce , pastas, chutneys etc
I can recommend their Rieslings both really good
And we bought a couple of reds as well.
They are not cheap but similar prices to lots of other wineries in the Clare Valley
It has a beautiful aspect over the town of Watervale

Not only were the wines superb but the warm welcome from a very knowledgable hostess was excellent. The wines were amongst the best we tried in the valley.
