We went for a drive and went to the point, it was excellent views; but last time we were there the water tower had the most fantastic painting on it (of a whale, turtle, eagle etc.) Looks like it had been scraped clean.....a great shame.

Home of not only the Point Cartwright Lighthouse and beach but also an amazing sunset A very nice park up from the car parking area allows visitors to sit and enjoy the half hour glorious sunset over the mountains. A popular area it was full of visitors. Don’t forget your camera. On the walk back you can take the stairs down to the beach area and enjoy a walk on the sand. Car parking does seem to fill up quickly.

We drove, then parked in a designated car park near the picnic facilities then walked around the entire point in drizzling rain. It was still very pleasant and the paths were well maintained.
My only gripe was that some people were walking their dogs OFF lead during the specified “on lead” time. The times are clearly marked on several notices which also states the OFF lead time.
I pointed this out to one group who became very abusive in front of my grandchild.

We started our day in Mooloolaba walking the promenade but could see the Parasailers off in the distance at Port Cartwright - a quick 10 minute drive and you're at one of the most impressive lookout points on the Sunshine Coast. The views alone are worth the drive out but the thing that really made it worthwhile was watching the Parasailing along the embankment - we spoke to several of the members and each were happy to share their unique knowledge of Cartwright Point and the Parasailing community. This has got to be one of the highlights of our 2 week trip to Sunshine coast. Special thanks to Rick for inspiring me to look into Parasailing further - and a special callout to Marley(dog) who kept my mother entertained whilst I asked a 100 questions of Rick!

We stopped here on our 300 km drive from North Lakes to Hervey Bay.
After visiting the twin lighthouses at Caloundra, we drove 15 km north to the free parking lot at Point Cartwright, lucky to snag a spot. We took a selfie at the long view of Wurtulla Beach before joining several dog walkers for 300m to the huge blue water tank covered with sea life murals, and just behind, the tall lighthouse built in 1979. At this commanding spot, we looked over the bay toward Sunshine Coast, spotting several surfers and small sailboats while another couple was watching a frolicing whale just offshore noting we are near the end of the humpback season. What a beautiful spot of Australian nature.

Visited this lovely spot recently with my dog. The dog was swimming off the rocks south of the river mouth when Sunshine Coast Council Rangers came along and gave me a ticket for being having my pet off leash. There had been no signage visible from the direction I had approached the beach. Even the ranger could see the next nearest visible sign wasn't visible where I was, but still felt it necessary to revenue raise. It seems the off-leash areas vary around Point Cartright are poorly signed, vary geographically and with varying times I had to pay the fine or take time off work and go to court to fight it (losing a week's pay).
To avoid future problems, I WON'T be back. Thanks council.

Point Cartwright has only one draw back. There just isn’t enough parking for all the people who want to enjoy this stunning spot.
We were very lucky to get a park down by the river. We then walked out to the end of the break wall and watched the surfers having fun in the waves at the beach.
The water reservoir stands at the top of the point beside the Marine Rescue tower and is currently being repainted. I really hope they will once again showcase the beauty of the region on the water reservoir walls.
The views from the top are stunning and the walk down from the point is lovely. Just love all the really Pandanus trees.
Great place for a walk or a picnic or just enjoying the view.

Get up early to catch this amazing sunrise. This photo was taken from Buddina Beach side of Point Cartwright. Great spot to take few photos, admire the beautiful scenery and maybe partake in a walk along Buddina Beach.

We parked in the Point Cartwright Light House car park and walked down the stairs onto the beach area.

Remember to take a torch with you if going before sunrise as there is no lighting on the stairs to the beach.

Unit 6/9 Pacific Boulevard Point “Cartwright” in Buddina.
Gorgeous newly refurbed and fitted out top floor apartment with rooftop entertaining. Steps to the white sand of Point Cartwright and also to the Mooloolah river for fishing and swimming on both sides of the peninsular.
Turtle nesting, whale watching, butterfly colony, dolphins and surfing. A minute stroll to great coffee shop, parklands with play and fitness equipment. Views aplenty across to Mooloolaba, and out to the Pacific Ocean from every room.

Visited on Saturday 5th June. It's always good to go for a walk here, plenty to see and do. Should be able to see the whales as they head north.
