About
Australia’s Champion Brewery right on your doorstep. Black Hops have two locations on the Gold Coast, their original brewery and taproom in Burleigh (HQ) and their new production brewery and taproom in Biggera Waters (Black Hops II). Black Hops started as a simple idea over a beer with 3 good mates Dan, Eddie and Govs. That lead to the first Black Hops beer, the Eggnog Stout. Their award-winning beers are unpasteurised and made with no preservatives. Each Taproom has a selection of 14 beers on tap, so there's sure to be a beer for every palate. BREWERY TOURS The Taproom team can give you a free brewery tour at anytime if the brewery isn’t too busy. Or why not book a $30 V.I.P Tour on the first Saturday of each month at 2pm at HQ or 4pm at BHII. Black Hops II has food trucks onsite Friday - Sunday. Both locations are family and dog friendly. Black Hops HQ – 15 Gardenia Grove, Burleigh Heads Opening Hours: Wednesday - Friday 12-7pm, Saturday - Sunday 12-6pm. Black Hops II – 671 Pin

This is your standard craft brewery, decent beers which is no different to the other craft breweries out there. It is quite expensive. Disappointing service by staff. After 5-6 rounds, 2.5hrs later we were asked to leave purely because others patrons were waiting for a seat. There’s no reservations and we were certainly spending money and we hadn’t finished our drinks. We were just told it was our turn to leave because they had run out of seating space(COVID rules I guess). We also told them we were going to buy another round and food, they weren’t interested. There was 3 of us and we were pushed out for 2 others. I’ve never experienced this besides places that have timed dining periods.

Awesome little venue with passionate owner who explained each beer and gave us tastings. Fantastic selection, there’s nothing we didn’t enjoy. Highly recommended! Looking forward to coming back. Thank you!

Well where do I start. Great beers. Smallish tap room with enough seats for a chilled not too busy atmosphere. Great for doggos and the staff were fantastic. Music not too loud. Just a great spot for a Sunday session. No food onsite but staff advised to just uber eats food in. If you want anything other than beer, why would you want to though, you have a choice of a few soft drinks or water. Not a problem for me but something to consider. Takeaways available also when your on your way home.

Went to Black Pig for the fist time last week. I had heard good things about the beer and good things about their ethics.

I was delighted to find it as good as reported. It is a cosy little spot to have a drink and the beers are great. My companion had a medium ale, then a pale ale while I contented myself with a single, packed full of flavour, craft beer.

Happy, friendly staff, dog friendly (I think) seating, and a chilled local feel to it. We bought a six-pack to take away, but I'm intrigued by the refillable flagons and might try them next.

Again, sorry... trip advisor posting photos sideways for no reason I can see.

Good beers combining the crisp fruitiness of most subtropical beers with a heavy hoppy style, especially in the IPA. Reasonable prices for a boutique beer. Bar closes pretty early but is great for a hot afternoon.

Great craft beer a short walk from the heat of Burleigh. My husband enjoyed their range of beers & I had a ginger cider. Unfortunately no wine on offer. Good place for an afternoon drink & no food available.

Pale Ale was ordinary and way overpriced.
My wife tried the Lager and only drank around a third. It tasted terrible. When I returned the Lager, I was not asked why?

Overpriced. Wont be back.

It was so busy we were standing outside.

This is my regular when I’m at home in Miami, a short walk for me , it’s a friendly spot with excellent beers brewed on site.

It’s always busy with locals but you won’t find any problems getting a spot at the bar or tables.

You can also do a tour of the brewery while you are there.

Tucked away, a little hard to find, even harder to find a park ... but so, so, totally worth it!

Maybe we were won over before we even had our first sip : Ally behind the bar is a star! So welcoming, so helpful, so informative, so passionate : as big a winner for the business as their beers (and that is saying something as their beers are first rate!).

We shared a tasting paddle (your choice of 4 beers : $16). They were generous pours and Ally took the time to help us with our choices.

We especially loved their Pale Ale and their EggNog Stout ... but their wasn't one we didn't like. We had taken our own Growler and Squealer which they filled (something that Stone & Wood won't do - sad they don't trust a home brewer to be a super sterilizer!).

They describe their space as a "Brewery & Tap Room" which is fairly accurate. It has a rather industrial feel rather than a family/night out vibe. The beer is terrific ... hope they continue to excel at their craft.
