The Blue Mountains are an absolutely wonderful experience. The scenery is beautiful and there is so much to see and do. This was our 5th visit, we always go when we're in Sydney, and it won't be our last. Very highly recommended.

Katoomba is more central, touristy, more restaurants etc but Blackheath is know for being a bit alternative and quieter.
