The Blue Mountains Explorer Bus is...

Explore the Blue Mountains - Your Way!

The Blue Mountains Explorer Bus is the ultimate hop-on hop-off bus tour of the Blue Mountains. With 29 brilliantly located stops across Katoomba and Leura, we give you the freedom to explore this spectacular World Heritage wilderness on Sydney's doorstep - all at your own pace.

The Explorer Bus is more flexible than a day tour, cheaper and less stressful than renting a car, and much more fun than trying to cover all the sights on foot.

Our great-value passes give you unlimited travel all day, making it easy to put together your own perfect day in the Blue Mountains. With buses running every half hour, you'll have plenty of time to hit all the highlights.

We'll drop you at the door of star attractions like Scenic World and the famous Scenic Railway, and give you as long as you like to hang out with our beautiful Three Sisters. Want to stretch your legs on a bushwalk? Simply hop off the Explorer Bus and we'll meet you at the other end!

If you're coming up by train, we pick you up right outside Katoomba Station - and we don't waste any time taking you straight to the big views.

Instead of throwing away 45 minutes of your day walking through town to Echo Point or Scenic World, simply jump on the big red Double Decker bus and we'll get you to the cliff top quicker than you can drink a cup of coffee.

While you relax and soak up the unbeatable views from the top deck, our friendly drivers will entertain you with a running commentary of fascinating local facts and stories.

And at the end of the day, we'll get you back to the train or your hotel with time and energy to spare.

Grab your slice of freedom. Start planning your perfect day in the Blue Mountains now.

HAD BLAST WITH THE TOUR!! Jimmy, Damien and Girth great on commentary both verbally and acoustically. Jimmy coordinated well with Girth in finding my GoPro which had all my Sydney adventure videos. Would be a great bummer if I had lost my camera. Thanks guys, you are all a valuable asset to the company. Will definitely do it again if... More

We took the bus at Katoomba, we took a bus (easy with the Opal card) there, and from there, the Explorer bus takes you to all the important stops. Some on our group also bought the tickets for the 3 sisters railway and skyway, others walked the 1000 steps down and up the mountain. Nice views to several waterfalls. The... More

One of the best ways to get your bearings around the area is to jump aboard and let the driver fill you in on the local history, better times to visit major attractions to avoid crowds and get the most out of your stay. We were pleasantly surprised to not only be able to access discounted tickets from our hotel... More

On a prior one day trip up here we learned of the Explorer Bus; and when we returned for a 5 day visit, we purchased the all inclusive package which included a ticket to the Aboriginal theatre and rides on all the Scenic World attractions. The Explorer Bus can be used for up to 7 days, but the Scenic World... More

Our driver, Jimmy, was outstanding! Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable of the area, but he could also give the tour in multiple languages! He was very kind, smart and willing to go the extra mile for us - literally! Thanks for everything and hope to visit soon!

We opted for the Explorer service as a good way to get around the must see sites. The drivers and office staff were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgable. The buses ran to time, pretty much, always appreciated. We did feel that $44 each for a single day was on the expensive side although if staying 2 days it would have... More

I took my sister and four Swedish tourists on the HOHO bus, starting in Katoomba, around the magnificent Blue Mountains scenery and cliff tops. Jimmy was our driver and regailed us with interesting geographical and botanical information, plus many extremely amusing anecdotes. He even remembered our friends were from Sweden as they were getting off, and they decided to return... More

We travelled around Katoomba on the first day of our visit, visiting all the major attractions. That night we selectwed the places we would like to go back and visit. The second day we got the Bus to places we had selected one at a time by getting off the bus and back on to the next place and all... More

If you want a one day tour with a guide, then I'm sure this has value. But we were there for a few days and really just wanted an easy way to get around for our whole stay. At $44 each per day, we decided to look for other options. What we learned was that the local buses go to... More

Hi 2coffees Thanks for reviewing our service, although clearly you didn't use our service at all, yet still feel qualified to review it. I'm always perplexed when this happens. Had you taken the time to talk with us, you would have been informed that as you were staying multiple days, your $44 pass would be valid for each day at... More
