Explore the Blue Mountains - Your Way!

The Blue Mountains Explorer Bus is the ultimate hop-on hop-off bus tour of the Blue Mountains. With 29 brilliantly located stops across Katoomba and Leura, we give you the freedom to explore this spectacular World Heritage wilderness on Sydney's doorstep - all at your own pace.

The Explorer Bus is more flexible than a day tour, cheaper and less stressful than renting a car, and much more fun than trying to cover all the sights on foot.

Our great-value passes give you unlimited travel all day, making it easy to put together your own perfect day in the Blue Mountains. With buses running every half hour, you'll have plenty of time to hit all the highlights.

We'll drop you at the door of star attractions like Scenic World and the famous Scenic Railway, and give you as long as you like to hang out with our beautiful Three Sisters. Want to stretch your legs on a bushwalk? Simply hop off the Explorer Bus and we'll meet you at the other end!

If you're coming up by train, we pick you up right outside Katoomba Station - and we don't waste any time taking you straight to the big views.

Instead of throwing away 45 minutes of your day walking through town to Echo Point or Scenic World, simply jump on the big red Double Decker bus and we'll get you to the cliff top quicker than you can drink a cup of coffee.

While you relax and soak up the unbeatable views from the top deck, our friendly drivers will entertain you with a running commentary of fascinating local facts and stories.

And at the end of the day, we'll get you back to the train or your hotel with time and energy to spare.

Grab your slice of freedom. Start planning your perfect day in the Blue Mountains now.

The driver of our bus, what an absolute gem you are to this Company, considering you must do this same tour repeatedly, your lovely gentle voice and descriptions lulled us around our trip. We made a super quick trip on a rainy day from Sydney, Katoomba was much colder than I expected, brrr, but only ourselves to blame. Wished we... More

My husband and I decided to take the hop on hop off bus around Katoomba as we didn't have a vehicle to drive around. We thought the driving and service was great, especially if your bus driver is Jimmy. He was fantastic. He provides commentary, can speak in many languages and personalises the trip. He also provides advice on how... More

This was a GREAT bus tour. The commentary is live, and although there are multiple drivers, we had Jimmy for the entire day. He was fantastic! He gave personalized recommendations/advice, spoke multiple languages, stopped for people to take pictures/took pictures for them, and pointed out sites/restaurants we would have otherwise not known about. The stops were very useful and allowed... More

Not being used to this mode of discovering a town or village it turned out to a great experience and we learned a lot more than by shanks wagon. We actually only got off twice and knowing we could pick up the next bus in 1/2 hour was excellent timing for we were able to do what we wanted and... More

Have to say our bus driver was fantastic!!Very friendly and made an effort to keep everyone informed and looked after. Stops off at all the main attractions and every ticket comes with an informative guide book. Definitely makes exploring the blue mountains very easy.

These is a funny way to visit the Blue Mountains. Bus drivers can be very energetic and funny telling the stories. Some even wait for you on the stops to take pictures. Even if you have a car you can just jump on these buses and enjoy the ride. Particularly if is the first time you're going there and you... More

Great way to get around park and you can get on and off wherever you want to see sites. The problem is that everyone using the bus hasn't been here before and have no idea where to get off and what are the must see sites and walks, you can only do so much. Would be nice if person behind... More

Nice guided tour around Blue Mountain. It's a HOHO bus so you can get on and off for unlimited time during the bus service. Make sure to star the journey early so that you can catch most of the attractions.

I heard this hop on hop off bus long before our actual travel time, so once we arrived Katoomba we went to the Explorer bus office directly. We paid $44 each and hopped on one of the buses. We had great walk from Katoomba falls to Echo Point where we had our picnic lunch. Hop on again from Echo Point... More

Hi ZhouFamily. Thank you for your review. It appears you had a great day until you had trouble finding the bus stop at Leura Cascades, until, as you point out, you read the Guide Book. Unfortunately, even though the bus stop is clearly marked, and the map in our Guide Book clearly shows where to go, some people end up... More
