We went abseiling and canyoning with Dan in the grand canyon. It was so much fun and Dan was very supportive with providing guidance as we went. He was very experienced which put us at ease. Lunch was great too!

I had probably the best day of my life, and I think my friends can all agree with me on this one. We’re all 20ish and in decent physical condition. We found this experience not too difficult, but the perfect amount of challenge to get...More

We did Butterbox Canyon on a Monday. We were a party of two with a guest guide (Justine) and our guide, Hugh. Both were great company! When they say steep walk out they mean STEEP WALK OUT! It's basically a crawl straight up... It was...More

Steep indeed! The Butterbox canyon exit ascends something like 300m, in 300 metres (give or take a bit). I was pleased to see that the fun in the canyon rated a mention too - the climb out can be quite engrossing and you have to...More

I live in Australia so I’ve been to the blue mountains plenty of times, but I wanted to take my Irish friend canyoning and I wasn’t about to do that without a guide. It was amazing. The guide knew what he was doing and was...More

Excellent :) I wish I knew who the hilarious guide was so I could hear some of the cracking jokes from the day, but I'll have to settle for one of my own: Why don't blind people go abseiling? Because it scares the dog! (not...More

Awesome. Jason would have had a terrible day I'm sure: climbing, abseiling, instructing, great venue, probably great weather, and obviously a great co-adventurer for the day! We appreciate the recommendation. Thanks!

Cairns/ Sydney/ Blue Mountains itinerary help! (2 Replies)
I'm a 20 year old female going on my first trip to Australia (and first time travelling solo!) for two weeks before studying abroad in New Zealand for the semester... I'll be in Australia from January 30 through February 12. I'm more interested in wildlife/ exploring on my own than cities/ group tours, but I'm a little nervous travelling alone so I am sticking to more "touristy" things for my own peace of mind. Does this itinerary seem reasonable? Any advice/ suggestions are welcome!!!! ...More

I just noticed from your other query about jetlag that this query has slipped through the cracks (many people are away or very busy at this time of year). I don't know if you went ahead and booked everything, but IMO it looks pretty good, and if there are any details you still need help with please let us know. Be prepared that coming from your northern winter the heat plus humidity in Cairns will really feel enervating. >>I really want to hold a koala-- like every other...More
