This lookout is simply stunning and far enough off the tourist trail that it’s quiet and can be appreciated without people shouting to and taking endless photos of each other.
There are several different lookout points, two right on the edge of such a sheer cliff, it feels like you’re suspended over thin air.
It’s along the clifftop drive from Katoomba Falls and well worth the extra effort to get there.

This is a great and little known lookout. Distant views into the Megalong Valley and the ranges beyond. Does anyone know the source of the name? All I can think of is Joe Cahill, the NSW premier for much of the 1950's. I have a vague recollection that Queen Elizabeth visited there during her 1954 tour.

Can see why go at sunset or sunrise. Was nice to go and see outlook of views alone with partner. Easy walk down and back.
Slow drive up and down as narrow and residential area. Respect area and locals

This is out in the horrid end of Katoomba, all roads and cars and psycho drivers with no footpaths. So the lookout is mostly a car park full of bus tours. You get a different view with the Megalong Valley farms but it can be an unpleasant place.

Very quiet and pretty lookout point on the outskirts of Katoomba. It was a wonderful place for us to visit after hiking around The Three Sisters. It required a 5 minute taxi ride from Scenic World but it was worth the excursion. It was sparsely attended, so there was plenty of opportunity to wander and photograph in all directions.
Given it westerly direction, however, much of the view from Cahill’s Lookout is mired by haze during the late afternoon hours. To get the most out of this picturesque site from a photographic perspective, you’re better off going early in the day.

Just a short drive along Cliff road from Echo Point this lookout incorporates Boar Heads lookout looking towards narrow neck and a rock formation that supposed to look like a Boars Head to the left of the scene. Cahill' lookout has 3 viewing platforms with amazing valley and cliff views, A must see and easy to get to by car or bike. Could walk from Scenic World to.

Cahill's Lookout is well worth a stop when driving along Cliff Drive.
Stop, park the car and take a short walk the admire the wonderful scenery over the valley.
Enjoy the bush and bird life.

We visited at sunset and you get an amazing view as the setting sun colours the sandstone escarpment. There are different viewing platforms and lots of space. Parking is easy
