We were lucky to visit just after all the rain we had so there was water over the falls. We visited both in the day and night which I highly recommend to do both. Stunning views across the valley. Easy walk around from the kiosk to the cascades and around the different lookouts along the way

We had already visited the Katoomba Cascades and wanted to take a look at the Katoomba Falls. We found a trail heading to a few outlooks from behind the old Katoomba Tea Rooms.
One spot looked over a very lush rainforest gully with a small waterfall while another overlooked the huge valley below. Further round we came to the Katoomba Falls Lookout which had spectacular views over the entire falls.

On my short visit to Scenic World I rode their Skyway cable car. Suspended from ca. 270 m above the valley floor you get some fantastic views down to the Katoomba Falls. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to complement my birds eye view of this waterfall by walking down to it but, nevertheless I'm pleased that I had the chance to marvel at just additional feature of this local landscape.

We walked down to these falls 3 times in 3 days as they had plenty of water cascading over the edge and it was very pleasant down in the valley on such a warm day up top. Take your time and enjoy the stay at the bottom. As the day grew longer it got quite bust with families and kids running around to it was time to head off.

Easy walk from the Scenic railway to the 3 sisters. It had rained the day before and water was flowing over. The path still had water laying on it so was bit of a challenge to get around. worth while walk though

Make sure you check this waterfall out. Can be viewed from the skyline cable car really well. Its worth walking down to the cascades. Very easy to get to and so stunningly beautiful. Its great for the whole family to enjoy.

Katoomba Falls is a natural attraction in the Blue Mountains. The Falls is not really a spectacular sight, but it's worth having a look when you visit the area. The flow of the water is minimal for most of the year and it could be easy to miss. It is part of the local river and falls into the Jamison Valley, in the National Park. There are walkways that lead to the Falls or near them. There are also look outs from where you can view the sight. The area is well sign posted so you can easily find your way around.

Wentworth Falls is a majestic, multi-tiered waterfall that cascades down a huge cliff face.
My favourite view was from the Katoomba Round Trail which leads down to a mid-section of the waterfall where you can stand to the side of the falls on a rocky plateau. From here, we had a spectacular view of the water streaming and tumbling down the cliffside above our heads, before it flowed over the edge of another sheer drop and plummeted down into the Jamison Valley.
We probably saw the falls at their best because it had been a very wet week during our stay in the Blue Mountains and we’d had very heavy rain overnight.
The downside is that it makes the bush trails very muddy but, wow, the waterfalls look amazing.
There are other vantage points but in my opinion, this was the most spectacular.
I believe that you can now also do a very special Katoomba Falls Night-lit Walk. We would have been very keen but unfortunately we didn’t find out about this until too late.

We spent most of the day hiking around The Three Sisters from Echo Point, including the Giant Stairway, Dardinall Pass, Federal Pass, and Fuber Steps. At one point we went out of our way to see the Katoomba Falls, and when we finally reached it, we wondered if we had really arrived. Sadly, there just wasn’t much impact to see the little trickle of water down a not so steep cliff. We joked that someone must have been hired to turn on and off the hose at beginning and end of days for the tourists.

There was one section of the falls, however, where we saw gorgeous arrays of colors emanating from the water. I’m not sure if this was a one-time occurrence or commonplace, but it was a sight to behold.

In contrast, what we saw in the forest was no more impressive than “waterfalls” at countless other mountain ranges.

Moral of the story? Don’t make these falls a destination unto themselves. If you happen to come near and you’re not too tired, walk the extra 10-15 minutes, but don’t expect to come away feeling like you’ve just seen the Grand Canyon.

Katoomba Falls is very very big. Its possible to see the falls some kms of distance if you have children, animals or health problems. In other way, if you have an adventures profile, you could appreciate the falls near to you after a long and amazing walking.
