A 10 minute stop for us, the bell was bigger, heavier and louder than I expected it to be. Worth a visit

We did not know that Cowra had a Peace Bell as they usually exist in capital cities. But there it was - opposite the Art Gallery. We both rang the bell, and wondered how Governor Dr Marie Bashir coped in her high heels on the cobblestones on the day she re-dedicated it in Sep 2012.

The purpose of the peace bell is commendable, and it is a quick, easy and free stop - in the street beside town hall opposite the art gallery. I was expecting something larger and more inpressive, but this shouldn't take away from the merit of its presence and objective. Ring the bell! If driving through Cowra, you should stop here, if only for 5 minutes.

....on the main street in town. Reminder of our place in the global push or peace. Ring the bell while you are there.

We walked past the World Peace Bell situated outside the council chamber. A very impressive bell and quite significant being located in a country town of Cowra. It was interesting listening to the story which comes on automatically. I personally really liked the tiles around the base of the structure.
