- Dan G2 contributionsOutstanding and friendly local knowledgeWow, what an awesome experience in local knowledge by Kate and Heather. Listened to what we were looking for in our visit and the information shared by them, catered to this perfectly. We will be back for a second visit to cover what we missed. Internet information cannot replace the human interaction experience in these instances.Hi Dan, thank you so much for your kind words. We are so glad we were able to help you with your trip, and really look forward to seeing you again! - Michelle RaggNew South Wales, Australia1 contributionLovely staff with lots of local knowledge. What a lovely Visitor Information Centre. Suzanne and Marilyn are just wonderful. Full of local knowledge and clearly love what they do. They sorted us out for our trip to Yarrangobilly Caves. If it wasn't for them we would have purchased park passes that weren't needed. Great tips for food and other interesting sites around Cooma. Thank you Suzanne and Marilyn, you made our trip much easier. Well done Cooma. Michelle and RogerThanks so much for the kind review Michelle and Roger, it was lovely having you visit us and we were happy to help. Enjoy the rest of your trip! - Ahjm W1 contributionExcellent and useful information. Moreover, the retired teacher was incredibly friendly 👍😊We were looking for some info about walking in the np. The lady pushed aside her lunchtime and calmly took the time to give us all the useful info along our route. From hiking to towns and camping including useful info for our budget ChapeauVisited December 2024Traveled soloWritten December 8, 2024

Absolutely outstanding knowledge from Suzanne, at the Cooma Visitors Centre. She had a wealth of information that I really struggled to find on the internet. Definitely stop in if you have any questions, it was a very pleasant experience. They also let us know about a great photography exhibition that was happening up the road.

We did not have a good first impression of Cooma and planned to pass through, but that was before we spoke to Kate at the Cooma Visitor’s center. Her knowledge and enthusiasm inspired us to stay and check out the Gaol tour.we ended up staying half a day and the gaol tour was a highlight

I wandered into this centre a few days ago on the hunt for a gift to send to a friend overseas. The two staff on that day - Frances and Heather - could not have been more helpful.
After hunting through the centre, they then went out the back and were able to find for me a perfect gift.
They also had great local knowledge with warmth and a sense of humour to go with it.
They deserve a pay rise!

Helpful, sunny staff who went above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for. Great ambassadors for Cooma and the Monaro. Also, a good assortment of quality Australiana on sale, much of it Made in Australia. Quite a relief not having to sort through piles of (made elsewhere) kitch before finding something tasteful. Well done ladies!

Travelling to Jindabyne we had to spend the night in Cooma as unexpected snow dump closed the road to Jindy and we didn't have chains with us.
Went to the info centre in the morning for updates on road and weather, and were served by two lovely ladies who gave us the current status ( not yet accessible).
Resigned to staying in Cooma, we went off for a wander, and a little while later were caught by one of the ladies who had run around town looking for us to let us know that status had changed and we could drive now before later temps would make the roads icy again.

This is by far the best tourist information office I have ever been in. We visited on 2 separate days, and the the 3 staff members we met were super friendly, very informative and so lovely. Thanks for making our visit so nice.

I have visited Cooma many times over the 60-80’s snow skiing up the mountains. But I wanted to make sure I haven’t missed out on any new additions. The ladies were most helpful and pleasant. They also helped me find my favourite store...I use for online clothes shipping :-) Also learnt they employ 150 local people, made me most happy to think locals in a small regional town are employed. Much information for the whole area...which in winter is the town nearest to our huge snowy mountain ski fields.

Visited the centre today, couldn't be happier. Fantastic help with local road closures and called Gov offices to confirm information. Printed out extra info for remote travel to bush areas. Kirsten and Heather were polite, helpfull and made us feel welcome. Well done girls.

My family was well looked after by the lovely staff here. They offered very helpful and thoughtful advice on how my parents (aged 60+) could access Mt Kosciuszko via lift, walk or drive. They had a wonderful day thanks to their advice. Thank you to Heather and Nicole for your good listening, assistance with maps, accurate information and warm customer service. It was very much appreciated!
