These falls were an added bonus to our trip as we hadn’t planned to go here but saw the sign as we were driving through. I’m so glad we stopped because after the short, easy walk to the falls this was probably the closest we got to see falls straight on. The falls were ravaging which such force that my husband couldn’t get a decent photo with his camera but that’s not to say it was a bad thing because it was really cool to see & experience! Definitely worth the stop.

There are so many beautiful and breathtaking waterfalls in and around Queenstown on Tasmania's West Coast. Nelson falls is easily accessible for elderly and families.
We recently spent a week in Queenstown to explore all the waterfalls and the hidden beauty.

Hidden little gem. Just before Queenstown we pulled off highway and had a quick stop to see this small but abundant waterfall. Hidden off a short 5 min track on a well made board walk track we came to find an amazing waterfall, Nelson Falls. It has parking and toilets you can sit and have a stretch or drive on to Queenstown

A nice, easy 10 minute walk each way through beautiful rainforest to this spectacular waterfall. Suitable for a wheelchair or stroller. Off road parking lot, room on the side of the road if it's full or you're in a RV. A good way to stretch the legs on what can be a bit of a tiring drive.

Beautiful waterfall! You’ll walk through a short but amazing rainforest to reach the falls. The forest felt so peaceful and refreshing, I felt like I could just stay there for a long time. Don’t miss this stop! I almost did and I’m so glad I decided to stop over 💖 I enjoyed this so much, and I’m really thankful for a beautiful place like this.

Breathtaking waterfall on the West Coast of Tasmania.
Short easy walk in..easy access for children and the elderly.
Fun boards to read with a timeline of information on how Tasmania was formed.
Highly recommended!

A very short walk into the falls. Well worth the stop over. Toilet facilities are there as well. One of the best waterfalls in Tassie.

It’s only a short and easy walk to Nelson falls and the view is wonderful. People who struggle to go for long walks to reach the final waterfall destination will be pleased to enjoy this place without a physical hassle :).

It's worth a 20 minute stop to walk through the rain forest to photograph Nelson Falls but make sure you visit the falls after Queenstown and Strahan as it is on the road back to Hobart.
