Hartley's is a great place to visit to see crocs and other Australian animals up close. We visited twice as our admission allowed us to come back again within 3 days of our initial visit. I personally found the whole farming concept a little confronting at first but the reasoning behind it and the related conservation message was explained during... More

They say in life it's the things you don't do that you regret. Well you won't regret dropping in to Hartleys. I was last here about 40 years ago. Not sure it was this good then, but it's great now. Wonderful staff, informative entertaining. My only regret - we couldn't stay longer. The best value tourist spot in NQ.

Unbelievable! As someone who lives in the states, a lot of these exhibits wouldn't exist. The croc feedings are amazing and everyone who works there (with the exception of the koala girl who seemed burdened to have human interaction) are amazing, especially muh boy Matt

Wanted to see crocs in action since didnt see any crocs in daintree river cruise. Saw big salties jumping and snapping at dead chicken lure, touch belly of baby croc, saw freshies "fishing" (using chicken head lure), cruise next to crocs in lagoon. Impressive. Spent half a day. Other enclosures were not as impressive as the crocs ones.

Friends from USA staying with us wanted to see the crocs, cuddle a koala and go swimming on Great Barrier Reef. Well Hartleys covers two out of the three and it really is a terrific place to visit. We were only here in April but a second visit was just as good as the first. Love the boat ride and... More

Here we finally got to see Australia's animals that we were not able to see in the wild. Besides lots of crocs with a very informative guide, there are kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, and of course the adorable koalas. The staff are very friendly and, except for the crocs, of course, you can pet and play with all the animals. Loved... More

Many animals to see and very informative and educational. It gets very hot, so it is best to book or drive there early morning or later in the afternoon. It is a place you can feed koalas, kangaroos and crocodiles..great for the whole family.

Thanks so much Aura. It is mid summer here in North Queensland now. Once it starts to rain it will cool off. This is just the 'build up'. Nothing a nice cold beer at the end of the day and a swim in the pool won't fix. Glad to see you felt we were great for the whole family. More

Though the crocs scare me like crazy they are amazing creatures. If you want a crock adventure this is a must see...so much better than having an encounter in the wild that's for sure.
