Spent two days with Eugenio and crew. Day 1 was half day of offshore fishing. We caught dorados and wahoo and had a great time. The boat is no nonsense and nothing fancy, but catches fish.

Day 2 included inshore fishing (barracudas and mackerel) and a trip to Playa Hermitano for snorkeling, cookout, and beach time. Once again, everything was perfect and our group (ages 17 to 76) all had fun.

Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful fishing experience with Eugenio and his crew. My two boys and husband enjoyed it too. We encounter some big waves on the way but weather is out of their control. In spite of that, they tried to make our experience as great as possible. After fishing they took us to Isla el Hermitaño, which was pure paradise. Thank you Eugenio! Not only for the great experience but for your hospitality.

Great experience with Eugenio and Fransico, First day we went out fought and caught 5 Dorados and one Spanish Mackerel, and a Barracuda. The Second Day I caught a 3 1/2 Dorado and a two foot barracuda. The Third day we caught a bunch of small grouper and yes and Octopus Trolling. The overall all experience was just what I hoped for. I am a very serious fisherman but just being on the water and watching the beautiful scenery was an added bonus. Eugenio provided water soda sandwhiches and most important President'a Beer. Would definitely recommend, remember you can't catch what you want just hope and pray you do. Best regards, Eugenio's wife also owns a great little restaurant called, (Good Food For You), the food was over the top. We wished we had eaten there more.

Went fishing with my son and some friends. We just circled around for a few hours and had zero bites. Then we stopped for some deep line fishing and caught a total of 1 small fish.
It felt as though the crew and Captain were just running through the mill and weren't even trying to find fish.

Eugenio, the Captain, was shocked by the lack of fish so I proposed that he give us another day without charging us since it cost us over $500 for half a day. He agreed, so we tipped him an additional $40 as a thank you for agreeing.
Weeks went by and I asked several times to go out which were met with some lame excuse.
Then I asked him a few days ago once more and he read the message on whatsapp and then just ignored me.
When I sarcastically said thanks for the reply, he blocked me.
I realised that the site we booked on has a month to leave a review, Eugenio was nice until the review period expired, and then he just blocked me as I couldn't leave a review. I have of course contacted the site we booked on to complain about his behaviour which is totally unprofessional.
So I just want to warn anyone considering this trip that Eugenio will gladly take your money and tip and promise you all sorts of things to keep you from leaving him a bad review, but he has no intention of trying to improve your terrible experience.

We booked Eugene through a fishing website and he was great to deal with. We met a few days before to make sure of the day and time we needed and finalize how many were going. On the day of the trip he provided a taxi at our rental home on the beach at the exact time we requested! Short trip in to town and were at the 3 boats he has. We jumped on board and were off fishing.

20 minutes later we hooked up a 3' Barracuda and he was in the boat quickly. We continued on for about another hour when one of our crew added more fish food to the ocean. We ended up heading back in but the boat was not the cause - it was the 3 hours sleep after a night of fun. After dropping off the 2 people needing more sleep, we headed back out for bottom fishing and we did well. We brought in a bag full of fish that had great color and flavor after cooking!

We had a blast fishing with Eugene and crew. The experience was way beyond a typical day on the water. Eugene arranged everything and made it easy. It was especially helpful to people like us who don't speak good Spanish. The water was an amazing blue and the ability to fish in very deep water not far from shore enhanced the experience. We caught a beautiful Mahi Mahi. There is a tremendous difference when you fish with someone who loves to fish and isn't just doing a job. Eugene and crew are clearly fishermen first. We took home the Mahi filets and threw them on the grill. Spectacular! I have fished many places around the world, and I would recommend a day with Eugene to anyone

We just had a great day of fishing with Eugenio on two boats in Las Terrenas. Eugenio speaks excellent English and was very accommodating in helping us arrange two boats for our 8 guests. He came to our house the day before the trip to go over the details in person and answered all of our questions. The boats met us right on our beach the next morning and we set off, one boat making the very short trip offshore and the other boat staying inshore for the morning. On the offshore boat, we had Captain Mario who was very knowledgeable, but spoke very little English. However, within 20 minutes of having our lines in the water, we hooked into a giant blue marlin. A 20 minute fight ensued and Mario directed us perfectly in Spanish. We landed the biggest fish I've ever caught and the kids on board were thrilled. Later, we met the inshore boat on a beach where Eugenio and his crew cooked us a great BBQ lunch as the kids swam. After lunch, we switched boats and me team fished the inshore while the other guys headed out. We caught 7-8 small wahoo and cravalle which was a blast for the kids to be constantly reeling in fish. The boats are not first class, but they were more than sufficient for the trip. Lunch and drinks were included in the very fair price. A great value for 8 people. Apparently, catching a blue marlin is not very common, but I can say that it was for me!

Would not recommend. Booked this trip for myself and my partner, we’re charged $250 each. We were told the fishing was good but when we arrived, Eugenio wasn’t even there. He sent us with his ‘business partner’. We cruised around for the half day and not even ONE SINGLE bite. Not one fish between the two of us, nothing. They also did not tell us that cash was the only accepted payment and would not work with us in accepting PayPal, Cash App, or anything other than cash. It was such a huge waste of FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS, to cruise around in a boat for a few hours with not a single fish. A huge waste. On top of that, the boat captain spent hours explaining to us how over-fished and at brink of collapse this fishery is. No one should be fishing her, let alone tourists. There’s hardly any fish to be had. A giant waste of money and an unprofessional experience. Would not go again.

I don’t know who you are , and we never charge that amount for 2 people , unless you go on the big boat, we have 3 different ones and we are 3 partners , we can’t go on every trip , I’m sorry you didn’t catch nothing as you said, but that’s fishing , and probably if you are letting this review now you went on may and was a very bad month , have a good day

Eugenio Heer of Sport Fishing gave our family of 7 a day to remember. We were picked up off our beach at Sublime Samana Resort and spent a day fishing and touring before landing on Ermitano Beach which is deserted where we snorkeled and swam while Eugenio and his partner did a BBQ and served a lunch as good as any had in Las Terrenas.

Wonderful half day fishing trip from Playa Bonita, Samana. I had a great day of fishing and hanging out with friends. Eugenio was very accommodating while doing his usual fishing activities. Reasonable price. We will certainly come back for another trip.
