The road from the airport to the hotel strip around las terrenas is well maintained (although a little sketchy) and even guarded by a “road police” named MOPC. But be ready to pay a total of 700$ DOP (!!)from Santo Domingo to las terrenas, ouch....More

If you rent a car, this road although expensive from a Dominican standpoint is very scenic and since nobody is using it, you can easily stop to take pictures and there is even a grotto you can stop and take a look at. It is...More

Taking this road is worthy. The landscaping is amazing once You start To go up the mountain. Careful driving is advisable. 552 pesos ( ca. 11usd) is what you pay to use this road to reach Terrenas.

Even if the toll is expensive compared to other roads in the DR, the scenic is worth so much more! Just don't go too fast cause the curves are strong. It is also by far the quicker way to get to Las Terrenas
