All specialist guides will tell you: the Biniaraix barranc is one of the flagship routes for hikers on the island of Majorca.
Very often, we suggest you start in Soller, which allows you to discover this lively and friendly city, certainly touristy but without falling into excess. From Soller, head towards the charming village of Biniaraix (a short 2 km), which you will cross to arrive at the starting point of the "real hike".
Several options will present themselves to you, from the shortest (which we did and which is around 5/6 km) to longer versions, allowing you to climb high up the mountain.
The path is obviously hilly, with these typical terraced landscapes in the canyon basin, and its "elongated" stone steps, a little slippery when the ground is wet (which was the case on the day of our hike). You can go back and forth on the same path, but it is also possible to make a small loop allowing you to cross the river (barely a stream of a few centimeters at the end of October) and discover the other side.
On the way back, (re-)pass through Biniaraix and its friendly and healthy bar, always well frequented, located on the adorable little village square.
For those who have the time and the legs, it is possible to prolong the pleasure and head towards another “mountain” village, Fornalutx, located a good kilometer from Biniaraix. This village of Fornalutx is larger and better developed touristically (shops, bars, restaurants) than Biniaraix, and it is also worth visiting, as its steep streets can be picturesque.
In short, a beautiful place for hiking.

Great place to walk, can be tricky so make sure you wear good trainers or walking boots and carry food and water in case. Reasonably easy hike even with children. Great scenery, relaxing walk. Great views.

This marvellous gorge and valley is very popular with walkers.
We walked down it but just as many were walking up it.
Either way it is challenging.
Incorporates an old pilgrims way.
Here and there a water pipe provides the chance of a cool drink.

Lovely ...and that there was no water ... in rainy season has to be crazy ... we will definitely return.
Easy route and at the top there is a view of the spectacular valley

Salve, vorrei sapere circa di quanti chilometri è il percorso e la durata. Come si torna poi al punto d'origine senza dover rifare tutto il percorso al contrario a piedi? grazie
