Lovely little cinema with welcoming charm and character. We watched “The old man & the gun” in the smaller room which held approx 18 people. You sit on sofas with a little table beside you. Seating is tiered too so visibility is good. There are...More

Loved this little cinema in Arrowtown. Lounges to sink into, cosy cinema size, old world style lobby, wine and cheese to nibble...definitely an experience to have more than once when visiting this beautiful part of New Zealand.

Visited Arrowtown one cold and rainy day and stumbled across Dorothy Browns cinema. So much character - it was like stepping back in time. Beautifully decorated and extremely comfy. Loved watching Ladies in Black there. If you are in Arrowtown - call in.

Love going to the movies here. Has a warm welcoming atmosphere. Get a wine and cheese platter and sit in really comfortable lounges to watch your flick. Also includes a good old fashioned intermission! One of my favourite places to go alone or with friends.

Alert to all wittertainees. Went to see “The Guernsey literary and potato peel pie society” on a wet afternoon. What a little gem, both the film and an amazing tiny little cinema. Mark Kermode would love it.

Our first night visiting Arrowtown we opted on a visit to Dorothy Brown’s cinema - a classic theatre that has been an Arrowtown icon for years. Our movie screened in the Den, the smaller of the 2 theatres and we opted for lounge seating. As...More

We were pleasantly surprised to discover a movie theatre in Arrowtown. It doubles as a bookstore. The decor is well done and the seats are super comfortable.
