Should be in your bucket list
Sep 2019
The Northeast of Brazil is a destination like few others in the world. To start with, the landscape composed of dunes and lagoons is very unique in the world - I've heard the other place you can see something similar is the delta of the Nile.

The national park is an area created so a lot of the landscape can be preserved and protected from real estate expansion. As a result, you are rewarded with some of the most unique scenery in the world. Lagoons are similar to the ones you see in Lencois Maranhenses.

You are likely to explore the region by booking a tour (package or private) with some "bugueiro" (buggy riders), and most of the landmarks are stop points for the tours. I think the tours will cover most of the landmarks except Pedra Furada, where you will need to do some hiking to get there.

It's a bit pointless to describe what to see there because the landscape is dynamic. The wind and rain constantly reshape the lagoons and dunes, and what was here 5 years ago may have moved elsewhere.

But regardless, even after a year, and having traveled worldwide with the family, this area remains one of our all time favorite vacations. It's really worth going.

Jericoacoara it's a wonderful place! Quiet, long beaches and great weather to enjoy your hollidays.
The only issue that we found, its hard to visit with your car (if you don't have a 4x4) we paid some locals to guide us through the beach to came to jerico. After that, everything was great! i will back soon!

Parque Nacional de Jericoacoara tour through the sand dunes and hidden lakes
Aug 2019 • Solo
Parque Nacional de Jericoacoara is an amazing hidden place north of Brazil. It's a very remote and kind-of isolated place where you can experience nature. It has it all: desert, lakes, beach, tight winds for water sports and a small town with good seafood where you can relax and lay back.

Totally worth a visit
Jan 2019 • Solo
I added Jeri as part of mx trip in Brazil because lençóis maranhenses wasn't that favorable to visit in January . Didn't exactly know what to expect but its the kind of place that you could easily spend several days at.

Different types of sporting activities are available - tours to check out the east and west parts of the park on buggy's are an easy way to spend two whole days in Jeri.

In the evenings you have the forro restaurant with live music and dancing on certain days. If you fancy house music then Jeri cafe is the place for you. If you are into samba then samba rock cafe should do it for you.

There are a couple of kite surfing clubs and running on the beach is also amazing. In terms of food I just enjoyed grabbing a bite from the street food and from my favorite cafe with freshly made Pão de Queijo - Pao do Sol is a must visit as well

Enjoy Jeri

Pedra Furada hole in the rock sunset June July

Nice 45-60min walk from Jericoacoa village via the lighthouse, for around six weeks a year June-July the sun sets in the Pedra Furada rock hole and you do get a big crowd with Selfie Sticks to navigate around.

Recent park entry regulations
Oct 2017 • Couples
The beach town of Jeri is situated in a national park. Transfer from the bus station in Jijoca is now done by a convoy of 4 x 4's instead of the big open air bus that was formerly used for the one hour trip. Visitors must pay an entry fee of R$5 for each day they plan to stay in or near Jeri, payable in Jijoca, where your name and numbers are meticulously recorded on a laptop. Seniors 60 and over are tax exempt. You are handed a printed chit which is inspected by Polícia at Jeri's city limit. Half the chit must be offered up to your Pousada when you check in and the other half is surrendered at the checkpoint when you leave. Climate, activities, culture and cuisine in Jeri remain superlative. And the wind continues to blow unabated in season.

Jericoacoara National Park and Tatajuba
Nov 2015
The best part of our trip up the coast of Ceara was the Jericoacoara National Park. I recommend that anyone coming to the region not miss this beautiful place. Especially Tatajuba and the dune buggy ride over the dunes!
