This one is a must!

Although the Riverview Tourist Village is very close to the hot springs on the map, it is actually very far and hard to walk uphill and downhill. It is better to drive fast. So do not need to choose that village at all.

Katherine hot springs

A fantastic free attraction, very close to the center of town. The water was lovely and relaxing, however it gets quite busy at times (we visited on school holidays)

A must visit in Katherine
Aug 2021 • Couples
These springs are a bit man made. There are stone walls and cement walkways. The entry is typically down a steel ladder. The water is clean and clear and flowing strongly. Temperature is perfect bath but when you get out you might feel a bit chilly.

The only downside is the steep access walk. But they are free so you can’t complain.

Great place to spend a few hours

Our young kids loved swimming here, as did we! Lots of pools to explore of varying depths. If you have goggles you can spot quite a few fish. There’s a great climbing frame up near the car park for kids and a little cafe too

This was certainly a surprise! The pools here are excellent with different sections you can go to for a swim. We went right above the stairs to the top waterhole which was our favourite section. It is a perfect water temperature when it’s a hot day and well shaded. There is heaps of caravan parking as well as toilet facilities. We sadly did find some rubbish near the area and even a broken piece of glass in the water which we removed.

Always very busy

We were staying in the caravan park directly behind the Springs so spent a lot of time either looking at them or swimming.Extremely popular spot so dont think you will get them to yourselves at all.Local kids down there and lots and lots of tourists.Good access to the top pool with steep ladder going in and you can make your way downstream to the other pool. The bottom pool has concrete steps going into it but is generally dirtier as everyone upstream has churned up the bottom.Perfect temperature and relaxing bar the amount of people there.Walk paths that take you down to the Low level crossing too.Lovely to rub your feet in the stones on the bottom

Luke Warm Springs?
Jul 2021
I was expecting it to be similar to other Hot Springs I have visited, but it was very different. Barely luke warm, the water didn't refresh as I had hoped. That said, on a warm day, chilling in the water was a nice way to finish the day.

Underwhelmed
Jun 2021 • Couples
It’s a easy location, with parking and good paths.
Don’t go for a relaxing time, its full of screaming kids, it s busy and not that clean. Plenty of Karens around to complain too.
I left feeling more tense then relaxed and a little dirty. It’s a easy way too fill in a hour or 2 but that’s it.

Very refreshing and close to town
Jul 2021
The first time we looked for the springs in Katherine we couldn't find them but we went in search again when we were with our children and had more luck. First of all it is a bit of a walk down to them, my husband uses a walking stick so for him it was a bit long but he managed and of course had to walk back up. The springs themselves are excellent and we all enjoyed our time here. We were near the waterfall and the temperature was very pleasant, apparently it changes depending on where you are in the pools. Our grandchildren wandered down to other areas and we all had a good time.

Fantastic place for a swim
Jun 2021
Plenty of parking. Short walk through playground and down stairs and along path. Easy access to springs using metal stairs and hand rails. Water warm and calm. Can swim from area to area with a small waterfall in the middle that you can also swim over and into the other side. Clear water. Plenty of seating as garden edging. Toilets near carpark. A must do.
