After a moderate walk up a steep path beside the falls, you arrive an infinity-like pool on the edge of the main drop of the falls, overlooking the plains of this beautiful country

This walk is fairly steep but reasonable. Wear boots to protect your ankles, water and bathers for swimming. Infinity pool is fabulous and scenery beautiful, nice spot to picnic and relax a while. No facilities so remove own rubbish

The climb to the top is very steep and over lots of rocks but worth every bead of sweat as the views are magnificent. The pools and fall at the top are a wonderful reward for the climb up. I have been in nicer pools,...More

The hike to the top of the gorge to get to the pools is quite difficult and there are many many flies which pester you constantly. But it is all worth it when you get to the top. There are amazing pools there, which give...More

Make sure you take a comfy car that can handle the extremely rough drive over dirt road. The climb to the top of the water fall is hard especially in hot temps but once you are up there it is a great view and amazing...More

This would have to be one of my favourite places in Kakadu. Stunning, beautiful cascading swimming holes. Very steep 900m or so climb to the top so those without a reasonable level of fitness may struggle to get up there. The water was clear and...More

Travelled the 37km of rough corrugated road. Did it in a 2wd (not for the faint hearted). Once at Gunlom we parked and started to 1km steep and rocky bush climb to the lookout and top plunge pools. Lovely swim on such a hot day....More

The plunge pool was great, I didn't walk to the top but hubby said it was really nice but pretty steep. If you intend to camp and want to use a generator you need to turn it off by about 6pm & be prepared for...More

Gunlom is well worth the bumpy 37 km trip of corrugated road in to an oasis. We swam in the infinity pools at the top of the climb as well as the waterhole at the bottom. It is truly spectacular. I do recommend decent footwear...More

Gunlom Waterfall Creek was undoubtedly the highlight of our week in the Northern Territory. Circumstances (relaxed day, ideal weather, small crowds) certainly helped but the scenery and the views of and from the creek are incredible. It has a true, natural 'infinity pool' looking out...More
