Beautiful piece of Filipino history, and a must-visit if you are in the area. Includes a museum, as well as pasalubong shops at the bottom of the hill. You cannot take your vehicle to the top where the lighthouse is, but you can park your car in the parking lot and ride a tricycle (10 pesos) to get there. The views at the top are very nice.

This late 19th century lighthouse is worth-visiting not only for its historical significance, but also for its state of preservation. It's like travelling back in time! It's also very instagrammable. Do take some time to read the panels with descriptions in every room of the place and you'll appreciate the place more.

Renovation is on going. With small area for parking of cars but can cater all the tourist / traveller. Souvenirs are quite pricey compared to Bangui.

The wind up there is superb!
When I went here, there are some renovations on going and repaintings. Please check on my photos to see the old parts of the lighthouse. The lighthouse alone seemed newly-painted and very clean and well-maintained.
At the grounds before you enter the stairways to the Cape Bojeador lighthouse, there are lots of souvenir item buys. I did buy myself a wooden craft replica of the lighthouse with a pen stand for my office table from there.

We got to arrive by 7am and not a lot of people were there. Although the place was in the process of getting renovated, were' still able to tour around and got to see the the remains of the Church/convent. We didn't manage to get to tour inside the lighthouse but facing the magnificent ocean view was fair enough what it's like to lived in the Cape Bojeador.

Built in 1887 when the Spaniards ruled over the Philippines, this lighthouse used to serve as a guiding light to sea travelers. Although now it has outlived it's glorious days and may need some repair, it still gives you a sense of history and amazement.
Fast forward to March 2012, there are vendors outside selling food and snacks. When we went there there were a lot of local tourist like us. The road going there is a bit of a zig zag drive. Overlooking the tower area is a beautiful cliff.

just include this place in your IT as it is along the way when you
visit the windmills and kapurpurawan rock formation.
They have all the historical information in every exhibit
area and particular rooms. Worth including in your itinerary.
Taking the tricyle going to the main site or walking would be a good expereince and moderate exercise.

Comparing my recent visit to the first one about ten years ago, I'd say that this is now a new way to tour a lighthouse. In the past, visitors would have to chance upon the lighthouse operator-caretaker to let you roam around ( he has recently retired says the guide). These days, there's a whole bunch of "free" tour guides who are well-trained on the photo spots, whether you're carrying a smartphone or a DSLR. A donation is encouraged but not mandatory but how can one be a scrooge when you're bringing home nice pictures?
Nowadays, cars are only allowed up to the registration pt and you're required to take the tricycle going up, probably a livelihood source for the locals. We walked back to the parking on our way down (to parking area NOT the highway) as we wanted to take pictures along the path, which is a mere 10 minutes.
Overall, it was surreal. The view afforded a 360-degree scenery of the surrounding seas.

This a part of our Ilocos Tour. Tower is the most prominent structure in the vicinity.
From the parking, you have to take a tricycle for P30 each to go to the lighthouse. You have to climb the stairs going to the base of lighthouse. Upon reaching the base, you'll have a nice view of the area and South China Sea.
At the parking, there are a lot of souvenir stores which the local says have the cheapest prices among the tourist pots around Ilocos.
