    Wowza !
We came at short notice; just for one night in a Garden Cottage. I think this is as good as it gets in NZ. The cottage is well laid out, very well equipped and very confortable. Lovely garden with amazing views, and yet privacy. Good breakfast provided, and a nice range of wine in the room/fridge, at fair prices. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and the wine very good. Service was friendly and professional throughout. I feared it might feel large and slightly corporate, but it really doesn't. I would go back like a shot.

Nice and relaxing place. Gym would be a bonus.
We booked the 2-bedroom Vineyard Cottage half a year ago. As we were on a 41 days road trip in NZ. I finally have time and read on their site closer to date they've a newer updated accommodation at River lodge but cost twice as much. I wanted to upgrade my booking thinking to "surprise" my husband since it falls on his birthday. They didn't reply on a weekend and I've to remind and ask again. Then they told me is full and if I would like to buy a bottle for wine for my husband? I thought the response was silly as if I want a free bottle of wine from them because of my husband's birthday. Anyway, upon arriving, the reception was nice and prompt. We've the Pinot Noir lodge, it looks quite new and everything is available. Only 1 pot of small yoghurt which I requested for more. Unfortunately, they didn't top up after day 1. Cups and glasses are 6 each which they could be more generous about it since is a 2-bedroom for 4 people. Overall, we like this place as it is well-equipped. Heater in the living room works well and quiet. It has a good running trail turn right once out the main gate and cross over will be a cycling and running trail to either the city center or via River Road which goes on for miles. We would come back here again but hope Craggy can seriously consider setting up a gym since they've huge compound and i'm sure the guest would love to use it :) You can drive 10min. to Te Mata peak carpark and start the trek ~ 6.4km is a loop if you go for the red flag. Their restaurant has to book in advance! Is often always full! :)

What a Find! 5 Stars All the Way.
What a wonderful place to stay! Many years ago shopped at an out of the way place in Kauai called "Gumps in a Cane Field." I would call this place "Craggy in a Vineyard." Small upscale cottages located in the middle of a vineyard. Looking straight above to Craggy Range and the top of Te Meta Peak. And the lodging is very upscale. And modern. With cooking facilities no less Thoroughly enjoyable. And you get a bottle of wine to consume, plus complimentary wine tasing! What a deal. Combined with the best restaurant in the region, you have it all. Would definitely return.

Some great wines with a great lunch.
We only had time for lunch, so had to combine it somehow with wine tasting. But we had Amanda as our server and she definitely made it happen. She expertly interspersed half- glasses of seven different wines during our delicious, multi-course lunch, leaving plenty of time for us to get back to our cruise ship. So much time, in fact, that we were able to order a case of wine on our way out. For future delivery, of course.

    First class!
Peter was great! Super knowledgeable and tailored our groups experience based on where everyone was from. We had a diverse group of folks from Asia, NYC and Locals. His presentation was easy to follow. The other staff throughout were wonderful and attentive. This winery is controlled and focuses on quality over quantity. First class! Highly recommend!

    Lived up to the hype
This property is spectacular. We stayed in the Merlot cottage and it was beautiful. I especially liked the wood burning stove for when it cooled down at night. We also really enjoyed their premium wine tasting - some of the better reds (don’t miss Quarry) that we drank on our 3 week trip through the North Island.

I'm kicking myself for not remembering the name of the sommelier who conducted our wine tasting.
He was outstanding, and took the time to find out a bit of our background, then related the finer aspects of the wine to our backgrounds.
He took the time to tell us the ownership and history of the vineyard. A great story!
A must do on your wine tasting tour!

We enjoyed our lunch tremendously. The food was impeccably fresh, creatively prepared, and well presented. Lovely, relaxing atmosphere.

William, our server, is very knowledgeable about food and wine and gave us outstanding service. He may be new to your restaurant, but he is a fantastic ambassador and definitely a keeper.

Walked through the kitchen garden after our meal and loved seeing where you grow your fresh veggies and herbs. Couldn’t be happier with our experience today.

Great location looking up to Te Mata Peak. Wine tasting consultant was very knowledgeable, We love coming here when we visit the area, and always buy wine.
The menu may be a little too expensive for some ( and us), so wine it is !!!

We were recommended this venue which maybe good for the restaurant however we arrived at 340pm for a wine tasting to be told they were booked but we could order a glass of wine which we did with a cheese platter. The wine arrived but well below the marked line on the glass which was disappointing at $16 a glass , my husbands line was spot on. After 25 minutes we asked where our cheese platter was and advised it would be with us soon, another 5 minutes and wine almost empty we choose to depart and cancel the long overdue platter. Disappointing to say at this pretentious place who couldn't provide basic service. A group of 5 arrived after us and seems that must have booked for a tasting (i doubt it) with many empty tables around it was questionable

The estate is far away from the main part of their vines (who are located in the Hawkes Bay and Martinborough). For their mass product they even buy grapes. To us it was a very artificial, posh place for a “good show”, even a little arrogant. However, their wines are of good quality, but well overpriced for the quality. Apparently they succeed with their show in creating a kind of “hype” around their estate. Finally it’s all about money and profit. The good wine is all above 100NZD and even not organic.

We had a lovely afternoon at Craggy Range. We were lucky enough to have fabulous weather, so we enjoyed the wine tasting sitting in the garden. We then had a very nice lunch in the restaurant, followed by a meander through the gardens and sculptures. The entire experience was just fantastic and we will be going back.

Went there for the tasting was able to sit out side on a lovely day (lovely place to do so) the Winetasting was a good experience the staff member would bring out the wines 1 by 1 in a well paced fashion explain each one in detail, was knowledgeable. There were several groups around us getting the same great service. We did not eat there though looking at the menu and food others did we may have missed a great eating experience.

Had tried to book lunch here but it was full and previously tried to book accommodation again sadly, full so we decided to do a wine tasting instead. Had the standard wine tasting with five wines (although actually got to try the rose too as it was almost finished - a nice little extra). I love a NZ Pinot Gris which we didn’t try but the Sauvignon was superb, so much so we bought some. Don’t remember the name of the young lady who hosted us but she was lovely and very informative and knowledgable about the wines. Planning a future trip to NZ and will try and book accommodation here next time and a meal or two. Fabulous setting with great views to the front and peaceful and charming. A great time had by us. Highly recommend

We booked into the cottage for a couple of nights and had a wonderful experience.
The cottage was 2 separate rooms both with their own ensuite and then a shared lounge with fire and kitchenette.
Lovely waking up amongst the vines.

The wine tasting was very competent and done outside at a picnic table. A knowledgeable host.
They have a very good range of wines.

If you are ever in this part of New Zealand this is the place to go and have an extremely memorable experience. The welcome, the service, the wine - nothing is ignored and the surroundings are exquisite. I am a very fussy eater but this eatery caters for my type and more. There were selections on their menu that I have never tried or experienced before. And after the wining and dining is over a daytime visit should include a wander around the grounds. The sculptures surrounding the lake are quite something.
