Four of us went here for lunch. We found the experience excellent. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was very good as was the service. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Stunning views, great service, classy place. We went for lunch and wine flights and ended up buying 3 bottles of wine to take home. Much better value, wine and service than on Waiheke Island. Highly recommended.

Came across this little Oasis after a swim at nearby Long beach, Russell. It has a stunning view over to Paihia and Waitangi in the Bay of Island. Staff very helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant. Fabulous setting and well worth the trip down the long windy metal road.

We were staying in Paihia and the weather was cold and rainy. Wine tasting sounded like a great way to spend the day.

The Omata winery is located between the car ferry landing and the town of Russell. We arrived to find the winery wasn't open this particular day for tastings. Daniel was nice enough to open up and let us sample what was available.

The vineyard is on a hilltop overlooking Russell harbor in the Bay of Islands. It's the most scenic winery I've ever been to. I'm primarily a red wine drinker but the whites were excellent.

You can do a tasting for $5 or a 'flight' which is four glasses of different wine for $15. Although the flight was a more expensive option, we decided to do this as we were having lunch here. The view is just stunning, the wines lovely, and the pizza we had was lovely too. Might pay to book if you would like one of the tables with a view. Highly recommend

We had arranged to have a late afternoon platter but our full stomachs from lunch couldn't accommodate another meal.
No problem to our wonderful host.
We did enjoy a 5 glass tasting board though. The view, indoors or out is sublime, the ambiance is relaxing and although we didn't partake, the
pizzas looked and smelt delicious.
The location is away from Russell so you need transport but it is only a few minutes from the car ferry so we took ours for this purpose.
$26 return is a small price to pay for
a visit to this gem. Oh, and we bought a few bottles of their excellent wine.
We believe we will pop back tomorrow for lunch. It's definitely a cut above.

In Russell with friends and decided to visit Omata Estate. Good decision by us. View is amazing, wine tasting is brilliant for $15 per head. Pinot Gris is delicious. Pizzas are fabulous, really tasty. Really enjoyable place to spend a couple of hours. Highly recommend.

While visiting Russell by car we stopped for lunch at Omata winery - best decision we made all day. We were very hungry so we ordered both the cheese/antipasto platter (for 2) and the seafood/antipasto platter (for 2) and between the three of us (big eaters) we could not finish it all. Every mouthful was an explosion of flavour, especially the smoked fish dip, salmon, mussels, figs, artichoke, olives, prosciutto, salami, cheese, beetroot hummus, stuffed peppers, crackers, turkish bread, dried apricots, strawberries, oranges, grapes, rocket, pesto, pickled onions, caper berries, and the list goes on. The tasting board of four wines was also very good- especially the pinot gris and the rose. And the view was even better. While we spent $130 on food and drinks between the three of us it was worth every cent!

Booked to have lunch at Omata on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. Both experiences were faultless. Food, Wine, Staff and Setting were all fantastic. We will be back!
