About
Visit the home of NZ's best-loved peanut butter. Smell our freshly roasted nuts as they tumble out of the roaster and make their way to the peanut squasher. See Pic's squirting into a jar that winds its way along conveyors to the capping machines that automatically place and tighten Pic's famous star lids, to the labeller, a hi-tech licker, and placer that wraps the brown paper label around the jar. Watch as our team of white-clad peanut butter makers tweak and nurse the gleaming stainless machines into making the galaxy's finest peanut butter, load it into boxes, then wrap it onto pallets to be sent around NZ and the world. When you visit Peanut Butter World, why not treat yourself to a bite to eat from the on-site cafe, PC Eatery? They are open 5 days a week closing at 3 PM. Come and join our energetic tour guides on a tour, 30 people per tour, 10.00am, 11.30am and 1.30pm, booking is essential. Make sure you browse the shop for exclusive merch and peanut butter goodies.

The tour was interesting and free, but it was very hot. So much so we had to leave the tour early and go back down stairs.
Also - the food/drinks at the cafe and the souvenirs and products to buy at the store were expensive. We had iced chocolate and all it was = ice cubes with a bit of chocolate sauce and some plain milk...poured over it.. very strange and a rip off.

Hi Lesleybax,
Thanks for your feedback. I agree with you about the heat, we had a very warm week here in Sunny Nelson! We are currently in the progress of dealing with the heat in the factory, I have also passed on your feedback regarding this and it's getting sorted.
I have also passed on your feedback regarding the cafe and souvenirs. If there anything else you want to raise about your experience feel free to email me - tours@picspeanutbutter.com
I would love to make this a better experience for you and anybody else who visits in the near future. Your expertise would be much appreciated.
Thanks again, Barney and the team.

As a lover of peanut butter the tour of Pic’s just had to be done. It’s a free tour, well organised, our tour guide was great, he spoke clearly, looked after us, was very informative given that he said he had only been doing the job for two weeks. It was great to see the factory running, to taste the samples and we booked for lunch in the cafe. We enjoyed all of this, a very worthwhile experience. We purchased plenty of peanut butter, cashew nut butter and almond butter for our kids and grandkids. Pic’s peanut butter story is truly inspiring, the dream you can achieve everything.

You get a free, fascinating tour telling the history of the company and its charismatic founder. Staff here are clearly treated well and the company proves that old hippies can succeed in business without compromising their values. No pressure to buy anything at the end of the tour. A nice Nelson experience for sure.

We trust you had a great time here in Sunny Nelson and made your way back home to London.
Make sure you stock up on Pic's PB at your local Tesco supermarket, look for the star on top of the lid!
Thanks again.

The tour of the new Pic’s factory is a fun activity for everyone. More so if you enjoy peanut butter. We had a great tour guide who was really friendly and gave very interesting and informative commentary as we walked through the viewing areas. It was great to learn about the history and development of Pic’s peanut butter. The inclusion for a cafe in the new complex is a bonus if you want a drink or something to eat before or after a tour. Thoroughly recommended.

Awesome tour, story and factory really enjoyed the tour thanks Pics for sharing your story with the world and for free. It was so easy to book online and a great website. The staff were great and really friendly. The coffee shop is fantastic great coffee and cakes including lots of recipes with peanut butter in. A little children’s play area in the cafe was a nice touch so parents can have a coffee whilst the kids play. Lovely experience all around.

We're new to the area, so when we ran out of peanut butter, we decided to go to see how it is made locally.
The tour started punctually and was ran by a young man who you could tell really liked working at this company. He was very enthusiastic and presented the information in that manner. He answered all of our questions nicely. We tried to trip him up with some snarky ones like, "Do they pay you well, or do you just work for peanuts?"
This company is still run by the original, caring owner and the tour shows it. I only wish I had more time to read all the display information, but this is close so I'm sure we will return soon.

Firstly it’s FREE,as soon as you get to the carpark you feel welcome, make sure you get your Picture in front of the giant peanut butter jar,Had tea and cake at the onsite cafe before the tour top marks for the cafe. Our tour was informative and also quite funny, (The smell is Devine as soon as you go upstairs)our tour guide (sorry can’t remember his name)you could tell he loves his job and the company he works for.We even got a glance at Pics guide dog and Pic himself on his cell phone(there’s a story there). The factory was in full production so got to see the slugs being made and big and small jars also. The tour was about 45mins with taste testing at the end.Love how the staff wear red and black.Pic puts so much back into his community you need to go on this tour buy some products at the Store and have a great hour or so there in the Cafe and on the tour 10/10

Food and coffee was good, couldn't eat all of it as i don't really enjoy sweet things as much as i used to. Staff were very friendly. Didn't realise i had to book for the tour as it was sort of a last minute decision to stop by (my bad for not checking first). For what you get in the meals the price is very reasonable compared to other cafe's will have to check out the tour another day.

Some of my extended family are in town, and had a tour at the Pics Factory this morning. They raved about the tour guide (Rosey), best guide they could've asked for, great projection of your voice (so the older ones could hear), great knowledge and enthusiasm. They were very impressed. Unfortunately I couldn't join as my daughter has a peanut allergy. But well done Rosey, you were the highlight of the tour!

Very accommodating to fit us into the tour. Josh made it very entertaining and my grandchildren loved making the peanut butter. Thank you to Pic for providing a free tour. A rarity in this over commercialized world. Great for families.

Is PIC'S Peanut Butter Gluten Free?
Thanks
David
Written March 26, 2018
Yes. There re two ingredients in Pic’s peanut butter - peanuts and salt. Because there are no fillers there is no gluten. Jesus be praised!
