As a group of four wine loving friends visiting Nelson, we decided the best way to enjoy the local vineyards and sites was with a tour guide. Elissa was fabulous from the moment she picked us up…got an idea of the wines we enjoy, pushed us to try something different , chose a fabulous place for lunch 🤪 and paced our day so that we enjoyed every minute of it. We can’t recommend her enough… it’s so much easier than trying to “do your own thing”….

Kudos to Lucy who was our (exceptional) private guide for 3 days in and around Nelson. She's very informative about the area and super fun to be with. The company was easy to work with and very professional. Tour #1 was a cruise, kayak and hike to Anchorage Beach in Abel Tasman NP. Very fun and well organized. Tour #2 was a long van ride out to spectacular Wharariki beach with a couple of interesting stops along the way. Thanks for the ice cream!

Zane is a consummate guide with an engaging manner that will transform your tour to a lasting memory of an unforgettable experience. We rate Zane as one of the best guides we’ve encountered. Golden Bay is s must-see while in NZ. We’ll never forget walking on the compact sand of Wharariki Beach and seeing the arch. We were ever so fortunate to see seal pups frolicking in a pool while being watched by one of the mothers. And Zane prepared a gourmet lunch of home-smoked salmon and turkey.

I booked Wine,Art, and Wilderness Private car tour through Azamara Cruises. Michelle picked us up right at the cruise dock in Nelson. She gave us a Nelson Center City cruise, including stopping at a beautiful Anglican Church. Next we took a drive through the countryside to see one little village, a local artisan gallery, a drive through a gravity winery, and finally a private wine tasting at Flaxmore winery. We drove to the entrance of the National park and a lookout. Finally we were driven to Mapua where we had a lovely lunch at Apple Shed Kitchen And Bar. We had a chance to go through other galleries and stores, and had an opportunity to eat local delicious ice cream. Michelle took us straight back to the cruise ship. This company helped make my husband’s 65th birthday one to remember.
