A lots of entertainment.
Jul 2019
Good accomodation, difficult to måske food at the very smalle kitchen.
But nice to use the grill.

There is a lots of activities for all ages.

The svimming area is very busy, difficult to ved a plads to seat.

The food is nothing special and of course expensive.

But we had a lots of fun and will come again for sure.

Lovely may day with children of 3, 6, 7 and 8
May 2019 • Family
We spent most of the day there. It was sunny, but not too crowded, probably because it was still early in the season even though it was a danish holiday. We didn't go for the water amusements - expecting it to be too cold - but spent the day walking around, trying the rides, playing in the playgrounds, digging for gold and rowing a boat. It was spacious, lots of lawns and trees, and the children of 3, 6, 7 and 8 absolutely loved it. Food is not very good, so bring your own and use the public barbecue.

Bit of everything for everybody
Jun 2018
A great variety. Extremely family friendly. More relaxing than bigger corporate theme parks. Almost never any lines. Cold water park, wear a wetsuit (It is worth the trouble). Half of everything needs more maintenance than it gets, but perhaps that contributes to its small-town charm. Poor marks for the mini-golf. They pretty much gave up on it, and it needs a complete rebuild. The scale-model historic buildings are incredible. Somebody's labor of love that gets less attention than it deserves.

Park is old but don’t bring old kids
Jul 2018
Been to the park since my own youth and not much has changed in 25 years. Is it leaving the impression of being worn down and in the need of a proper upgrade. (Fairly spoken some have been done over the years but it is limited)

My kids (3 and 7) however (almost)
loves the park but that will end at around age 10-12. Maybe that is the point - I don’t know.

Food is the fast type and the general service from staff varies with the individual (they have staff from minimum age to ‘maximum’)

The water park water is not heated - keep that in mind if visiting early summer (or generally just visiting on an average danish summer) The changing rooms are severely undersized and appears dirty and really worn down.

A 4 person entrance with a bit of food soft drinks and the ever mandatory ice creams will set you back around 1500-1800 DKK
(200-240 EUR)

Will we return?

Most likely as we have a 15 min. drive from our summerhouse so it is convenient.

Any competition ‘near by’ and they would be in serious trouble I guess....

Very family friendly and relaxed atmosphere. You can bring your own lunch
Jul 2016 • Family
Sommerland is so nice. You pay at the entrance and then you don't have to pay any more inside. There are places for the small toddlers and older kids and even one rollercoaster which is quite scary :-) And then you can bring you own picnic if you don´t want to buy expensive junk food and sit on the grass or at tables. There are also some animals. So much more relaxed atmosphere than in Legoland for example.

Wicksteed Park equivalent
Aug 2016 • Family
I have visited this park every year now for best part of 10 years. It's a Wicksteed Park equivalent with sporadic rides spread over many acres of land. The best part is the water park and slides.

The entry price goes up every year but I don't see any real improvements. Once in the park all the rides are FOC.

The park shows it age. Biggest problem are the youngsters they employ. No service skills whatsoever and a few of them refused to speak English.

The food is typical burger and chips with no real alternative. Always surprised to learn that no real consideration is given to the children's meal. It's plastic burgers with a meat contents of 0 % .

The park should consider reducing their fees for adults (after all we have to come along with our youngsters but it's not really for adults is it!)

A very expensive day out.

Positively surprised
Jul 2016
We went to this amusement park without any expectations, and were positively surprised. It is not brand new, but clean and tidy. I guess you easily could spend a couple of days here with kids. The water park had cold water, and we were a bit disappointed about that and hence did not spend much time there. Beware of the food - we had some pizza at a western-looking place: I cannot remember I have ever eaten such a terrible pizza. Nevertheless, we will go there again if we are in the neighborhood. Cheap admissions and most (all?) attractions free once inside.

Great for kids
Jul 2016 • Family
Heaps of fun for a reasonable price (book online in advance for additional savings).
Bring your lunch and beverages and leave it in the car while you roam around in the morning, then pick it up and use the free BBQ.

Great place for especially 2-5-year olds
Aug 2015 • Family
Great mini-put area with rides for the small children (2-5 years). Children 6-13 will injoy the day too, with rides suitable for older children, but I believe it is best for smaller children. Older children will probably find other parks better.

Fantastic day out in open, green surroundings
Jul 2015 • Family
Sommerland Sjælland is a perfect day out for a family with young children. The variety of rides, attractions and playgrounds is very extensive. The park is divided into several zones, some of them themed: a Western-style village, an area with rides for the youngest visitors … We brought two 2.5 year olds and they had a blast. I can imagine children up to 14 years old having a very good time here. We did not visit the swimming pool but looking at the slides that has no age limit at all. It looked amazing. We can recommend the circus show that is only playing in the summer. Even though it was in Danish, our daughters payed close attention to the clown, the dog show and the juggling act. The "strong man" act is really impressive too!
The facilities are of a high level. Toilets and eating spaces are ample. You can have your home-packed lunch all over the park, or you can buy food at one of the many stands. The ones I saw looked very good, especially the one serving a local burger, but if I recall correctly you can only enjoy that one in July.
After a long day and rides in the electric cars, the swans, the small roller coaster, the rowing boats, the trains and much more, we asked our girls on the way home what they liked the most. The answer was “the red slide”, unanimously. Conclusion: maybe your child, like ours, is happy with the simple things so they will surely have a good time in Sommerland Sjælland.
We made some memories that day that will last for a long time.
