Our first stay in Chateau Appony hotel was connected to the walkthrough in reconstructed library with more than 17,000 books. The guide lady was kind, knowledgeable and was telling many interesting stories. Recommending to visit!

We have just come back from staying at the Appony. It is a grand setting with luxury rooms, helpful and friendly staff and a fantastic restaurant. The rooms were five star quality, clean, attractive, with all the amenities you expect. The breakfast was extensive and was so enjoyable sitting outside on the terrace. I can't praise the friendliness and helpfulness... More

Well worth the time to look at, listen to the talk and look upon centuries of books and history. Fascinating to see how they have restored and kept the history

Just a super experience. Interpretation of story by guide, unique stories played as theatre about the history , salvation and overall superior collection of books. Good kitchen, nice staff. Nice place for all history lover. On centre of village is another museum of history with nice exposition. Worth to see it.

Authentic copy of famous library destroyed by commies. The books are originals, but the furniture (shelves) are unfortunately only copy. The guide will tell you amazing stories about the library and its owners.

You'll be steeped in history in a second. Many famous people gave spent time there: Roosevelt, Queen Geraldine, etc etc. Not to miss!

The library is just beautiful! Lovingly restored and looked after. The librarian is very enthusiastic and clearly loves taking people around the place. They also organise some events in the library, which we sadly, missed. I wish I could just sit there for a day enjoying all the lovely books! Definitely worth visiting!

The visit of the reconstructed library left a deep impression in us and stirred emotions and hope for the future. Especially as we, Czechs and Slovakians can often be very pessimistic about our abilities and assets. It was just awesome to follow the guide and initiator of the restoration in one, and realize that something that seemed almost impossible unfolds... More

We were staying over the weekend in the hotel, the hotel is completely renovated, nicely furnished, service was very good. We were happy with the stay, although it was not very good weather, strong winds blew in Oponice. We also visited the famous library, it was really beautiful, and even though we were still in one room, the guide was... More
