We managed to see hundreds of dusky dolphins 3 humpback whales and 2 sperm whales from the air! Definitely worth a trip up north to Kaikoura to watch the whales from the air. We came to this town just for this tour and we are not disappointed. The pilot is experienced, the GA-8 Airvan is very suitable for such trip!

A great activity with lovely staff ! First of all a shuttle came to pick us at our accomodation so it was very convenient. The flight was at 10am. Before this one we had a short interesting overview of the peninsula and of the life in the ocean here. Then we took the plane, a little one for 4 persons... More

Such an amazing flying adventure!!! Cannot speak more highly of this company. Definitely the best viewing seats to see New Zealand's wildlife. Our brilliant pilot flew around so that all 5 passengers on board could see out of their own big window. We all got spectacular views of 3 sperm whales, hundred of dolphins, seals, sea birds and the beautiful... More

Myself and 3 friends went on a flight tour with this company to see some whales. Firstly, I cannot commend the staff high enough! Our pilot (Ed) and the receptionist (Anake) were so friendly and helpful! We all felt so safe during the full tour as well, so had nothing to worry about! There was 6 of us in the... More

We had very bad weather, couldn't see much of Kaikoura and haven't seen any whales at our first flight. They made a big exception for us and offered us a second flight! This flight was absolutely amazing we had good weather and we've seen 5 whales, 200 dolphins and had a fantastic scenery. It was worth to do it again.... More

Was too scared to get into small plane . It turned out to be a awesome experience. Watching whale in its natural environment was an unique experience. The best thing about the tour was flying over pristine aquamarine Pacific Ocean . Kaikoura is one of the most the Scenic town in NZ , snow caped mountains on one side and... More

This tour has to be in the top three highlights of our New Zealand trip by far! The staff were friendly and informative and even offered us a complimentary hot drink whilst they were delayed slightly which worked to our advantage as we were kinda running late. The pilot gave us a heads up and said he had only seen... More

Was not expecting to see any whales as it was the wrong time of year, but the crew of Wings over Whales knew where to look, and we actually did see one sperm whale and hundreds of dolphins. The view from above was a new experience for me. Wish we could have stayed up longer!
