Gained useful information on whale watching options, the weather and sea conditions and current position status of whales. Based on all this we decided to postpone our tour rather than being disappointed.

Lots of pamphlets about different things to do in Kaikoura & also other parts of NZ. Didn't find staff super helpful when asked a question regarding Picton. Also no toilets here.

The ladies at the Kaikoura Visitors Information Centre were very helpful telling us which areas where of interest, if we wanted freedom camping which is the best place to go. Nothing was any trouble. Great knowledge of the area

The staff in the office were very knowledgeable, I highly recommend this stop if you don't have your itinerary completely planned. I bought a few souvenirs there and they were reasonably priced.
