This is like an outdoor museum - it has been very well thought out, based around the ruins of the original buildings etc. Highly recommend it for an insight into the lives of Coasters 100 years ago and an important piece of NZ history.

This was a spur-of-the-moment stop on our road trip, and turned out to be more interesting than we expected. Also a great spot for photography.

A quaint quiet spot to stop off and wander around an historical mine, the scene of New Zealand's most tragic mining disaster. Great to see the old brickworks from the local area.

Great time spent here by my family, you definitely got the idea of the disaster that occurred here. So much of it still preserved to show the devastation. Walked 1/4 of the way across the suspension bridge and turned back haha - didn't feel safe....More
