About
Off-roading in the Heart of New Zealand’s unique and mystical rainforest, surrounded by native trees, ferns and bush. The landowners have spent more than 20 years creating an offroad paradise of tracks always mindful of retaining the natural character and beauty of the area. You will be enchanted by the gorgeous ferns and mosses that line these tracks along with stunning views over the river valley. The best part of your journey through this wonderland is the mud and water which naturally pool on the tracks. After a good downpour of rain, rivers of water flow down parts of the trail and the mud is replenished for play. No need to worry about keeping clean as boots and protective clothing are supplied to keep you dry. We offer 1hr, 2hr or 90mins adventure tours, 7 days a week. Our vehicle fleet consists of quad bikes, 1, 2 and 4-seater buggies, kid’s quads and the mighty Hagglund. Our knowledgeable guides with their off-road skills mean that you can be sure of an adventure you'll love!

We were passing through Greymouth and noticed the sign. As we had some time to kill I convinced my wife to try it. We didn’t have any booking and another tour just started ahead of us but Mike the owner of the place and the land we where driving through simply locked up the place and took us out. Initially we went for the 1h tour with Mike who carved out those tracks over the last 23 years! It was such an amazing experience and both me and my wife (who was a bit reluctant at first) couldn’t get enough of this beautiful diverse forest track. Mike took very good care of us and we had so much fun that day that we returned the next day and did the 90min tour which I would definitely recommend doing as it’s a bit more tricky but even more beautiful. It was an absolute highlight of our trip and If we ever get back to this part of the world this will be on top of our itinerary. If you’re in the area this is a must do.

It had been raining for days when we pitched up in Greymouth for our 2 hour Waterfall + Forest Track quad bike. It was still raining as we ran towards the wet weather gear shed, and when we got on the bikes.

“The normal routes to the tracks have been flooded and are inaccessible” we were told, “getting onto the tracks is going to be a challenge” and it was, what a baptism of fire into quad biking. After a lot of information on how to work the quad bike, what not to do and the best ways to stay safe we were off, around a ‘nursery track’ that still felt too grown up for me!

I soon settled into it and once comfortable with the bike controls, had the time of my life. Cruising through half-rivers, across tracks through awesome forest and notably (most difficult part of the trip!) through a waterfall.

Our guide was lovely, went at our (my) pace, helped me when I got stuck in the mud (just the once!) and in difficult parts helped guide our tyres so we made it through. Given the inaccessibility, I would not have been surprised to be told it was not possible to go but On Yer Bike really went above and beyond to give us a memorable and thoroughly fun two hour ride. I will definitely be back!

Awesome review thank you! It was a pleasure taking you both out despite the rain and heavy flooding, never a dull moment on the West Coast, certainly makes our tracks alot more interesting...haha! I remember this day and how impressed I was with your quad biking skills, so it would be my pleasure taking you out again :-)

We did the awesome 2hr waterfall & forest track, which started out in 2x single buggies but during the warm up track the gf didn’t feel that confident so we swapped to the 2 seater buggy.

It was a great designed technical track much more fun than just all out speed.
The Ca-Am buggy was a great machine getting through narrow tracks in the rainforest to steep climbs on loose terrain. Oh not to forget wading through a river and watch out for the steep descent with a hairpin turn at the bottom.
If you want a proper off-road experience go here you won’t regret it 👍🏼

A definite 'must do' if you are planning a trip to the West Coast. You will not be disappointed! Loads of fun from start to finish, the tracks, the forest and guide was amazing!! A real off road adventure! I have been 4x4ing for many years now, and I can honestly say that these tracks were not disappointing for even the experienced. We will be back for sure :-)

This is advertised as being a thrill seeker ride guaranteed to get muddy.
Well im not sure how you can when the bikes are governed to 15 km an hour and the guide rides within 3 meters of you. We came away feeling ripped off by false advertising. The bike even had a flat tyre within half an hour into the ride meaning we had to go even slower. The guide was a nice guy hamstrung by his employer, and admitted the tyre had a leak in it for ages but they couldn't find it. For the price they charge, surely they could just put a new tyre on it.
To give you an idea of how there was little mud, the guides bike tyres were completely bald. My wife only got 2 minute drops of mud on her. A really huge disappointment!! I'm a farmer so maybe my expectations were too high but I doubt a townie would of had a different experience.
More enjoyable things to do for far less costs on the coast.

We are very disappointed to hear that we did not meet your expectations on this particular tour. We always strive to give the very best possible experience suited to skill and ability without ever compromising on safety! The only vehicles that are restricted to 22km per hour are our CanAm double buggies. Our tracks are NOT designed for speed, and a guide is necessary to show you the way through 250 acres of dense rainforest. If you wish to discuss your experience further, please don't hesitate to contact us, and we will gladly help with coming to a resolution.

Amazing experience, have done quad biking previously elsewhere but this is by far the best. The rain forest scenery was astonishing, it's like riding through one of Ghibli movie's forests. The host also takes great care of you, I felt very well looked after.

Don't let the weather stop you, these guys provide full body waterproof clothing to go over your clothes so you stay warm and dry no matter the conditions. I went on a wet and muddy day and had heaps of fun and none of the mess on me afterwards.

We visited with two tween girls. We took the 2 hour tour in a quad buggy. It was great family fun and nice to all be together. Heaps of different terrain, with mud, water, hills and bush. Our guide was great, easy to chat to and great information about the tracks and about the West Coast generally. It was a great activity and one of the highlights of our West Coast adventure.

Having done this trip a few years ago, we were very excited to be able to head back and do the 90 min Mud Track.

We had Jay as our guide, who a extremely lovely, upbeat guide with a awesome sense of humor. Unfortunately the sun was shining on the Coast, and had been for a few days, so not much mud to be had. But that's okay, Jay made it a fun trip.

We will be back, hopefully for some proper mud!

It is pricey, (had gone up a whopping $60 since we last did it). But hey, its jolly good fun, and still worth doing

We had a great time. It had rained in the morning and there was so many great puddles to ride through. Our guide was great, friendly and knowledgeable. The track is so well done. We rode the quads but next time I'd definitely go for a single buggy.
Is a great activity for family, couples or a work function.

Had the best time. A first for me. Major shoutout to Rowan, our lead man. I did a major freak out😳 and thought I’d have go to a buggy but talked and demoed through it and we were away👍🏽 very safety aware, kind and clear double checks.
Two hours flew and well worth the fee for sure- damn fine cuppa and bickie half way round.
Big variety in sights, sounds, bush, water with a cow or two and a kereru and bike challenges, photo ops
Cheers to you guys, big fun and something completely different for us to do together- we loved it. Excellent and Highly recommended
