What a great break from busy lives - a very comfortable home-like lodge (we specially loved the luxurious outdoor bath) and nothing to do but get up each morning and marvel at the stunning scenery and new views that each day's well planned walks brought. Then at the end of the day, wine and fabulous home cooked, gluten free meals... More

It's well worth the climb when you see the ocean views from the cliff top. The beach walk from the Mangawhai Surf Club is easy going, the climb to the cliff top is puff inducing for an oldie like me but still manageable in my 70s.

Just returned from the 3 day experience at Breamhead Coast Walks, with 6 friends. We had a fantastic time - excellent accommodation at the lodge, gorgeous food, loved the walks ( even in the pouring rain ), Claire was amazing as a taxi driver and wealth of info and ideas. The area is idyllic and well worth a visit. Highly... More

We were a group of 7 friends on a girls weekend, so we appreciated having delicious food prepared for us to heat and eat for dinner, and breakfast and lunch supplied for us to organise. It was also easy to stay in one place for 3 nights, without having to pack/unpack each day. We did 3 days of walking with... More

Waipu cove: Loved swimming - felt safe at a full on ocean beach with life savers there. Went for a long beach walk. Big sweeping beach with awesome waves. Great place to go to. Make sure you get an icecream from waipu cove dairy!!

Well maintained tracks and perfect length for day trippers to see an overall of this fabulous area. The tracks we chose took us about an hour but there was a longer choice. A pity we didn't have more time. We would recommend taking a picnic and stopping along the way next time.

The accommodation was excellent. Comfortable beds, crisp linen, A+ cleanliness, well appointed out and fabulous food supplied by our hostess Claire. Some of our Group did all the walks. I chose not to walk day 2 as it is steep and my knees not great. Plenty of options for all stages of fitness and mobility. In winter the book club... More

This is an amazing 3 day glamping experience where you stay in modern comfortable accommodation and venture out over the next 3 days on various walks. The food provided by Claire was superb at all levels-loved the Hapuka smoked pie. The little extras that gave this experience were the outdoor bath and a visit by a local therapeutic masseuse Rosie,... More
