Great day out. Jet boat ride up water to the walk to the Bridge To Nowhere. This is an easy walk through nice bush. Jet back part way back down river, then canoed the last 10 kms. Rapids do take a little negotiation.

What lovely lovely people. We came off the river wet, cold & tired to lovely rooms, a hot shower and a cold beer.
These guys could not have done more for us & we had a great stay.
Highly recommended.

All I can say is the kids still talk about the fun and fantastic jet boat road from Pipriki and me and the wife still talk about the scenery and great tour. All round excellent day out that defines our stay in NZ. Must do for all people, we had seniors, couples, families all on the jet tour. Be ready for a decent hike and getting wet, but most of all our guide was accommodating to everyone and the bridge is a very unique experience.

My friend and I joined Jonathan and Wayne, and a couple from Oz on the jet boat trip to the Bridge to Nowhere! We had a beautiful day, J & W, were great hosts, we thoroughly enjoyed the boat ride, doing donuts and getting wet. The bridge and info are well worth hearing about! Magical day up the Whanganui River!!!

We did the Bridge to Nowhere Trip jet boating up and back with the walk into the bridge. It was a last minute booking and Mandy was great on the phone and willingly accommodated us, getting back to us promptly by email to confirm the booking.
Be prepared for being on “river time” but that’s the way it rolls and you just go with the flow.
It was a busy day for the crew with lots of bodies on the river but they went out of their way to make sure everyone’s needs were accommodated.
The guides were very laid back, informative and friendly. They kept an eye out for everybody on the river, regardless of which operator they were booked with, which speaks volumes for their integrity and hospitality.
Thanks for a great day out, we will be back to stay at the lodge on another visit.

There were 6 of us adventurous ladies, kinda senior in years, but young at heart, and we were very keen to visit the iconic Bridge To Nowhere up the beautiful scenic Wanganui River. Peter drove us up the Wanganui River Road in a people mover from Wanganui city to Pipiriki, pointing out places of interest on the way, to the small settlement of Pipiriki way up the Wanganui River, where we were to be taken by Joe, Ben and newby Harley on an exhilarating one hour plus jetboat ride up to the landing, through some magnificent scenery. Joe Adams of Bridge To Nowhere Tours guided our group on our 40 minute walk into the 'Bridge to Nowhere', where we enjoyed our premade filled rolls, and a very welcome cup of tea or coffee, packed in by the indomitable Joe. After lunch and time to catch our breath, we set out on our return walk through mostly native bush on a largely flat track ably maintained by DOC, and well within the walking capability of the mature set. The jetboat ride back to Pipiriki was glorious, as by now the sun had emerged, offsetting the natural beauty of the river itself, and surrounds. I thoroughly enjoyed our van trip up to Pipiriki, the JETBOAT ride up to the Bridge landing, and the walk through native bush into the actual Bridge To Nowhere. On hearing the comments of the other ladies, I think I can safely speak for them as well in heartily recommending this Bridge to Nowhere Tour to anyone from anywhere. Joe Adams and his son Ben are excellent hosts, and very witty with it, so a big thankyou to both of you from the Europe Tour Ladies, Gloria, Robynne, Robyn, Carolyn, Linda and Elaine.

We met Joe at Pipiriki and enjoyed a beautiful jet-boat ride on the Whanganui River to the start of the track. It's very windy and feels chilly on the boat-take a jacket even in spring or summer. The whole walk is lovely-and the history fascinating. It felt like we were a whole word away. We spent time canoeing on the way back. The slience and sense of peace was very unique and quite magical. Joe and the others gave a real taste of classic Kiwi culture. All very casual and understated; we loved it.

We took the narrow crooked road for two hours to get from Whanganui to Pipiriki and parked our car in a resident's yard for $20NZD for 2 nights. We boarded the jet boat from the Bridge To Nowhere Lodge on the muddy Whanganui River bank and went up river in the rain for about an hour to the trailhead. It was a 2.7 kilometer walk in the rain forest to get to The Bridge to Nowhere. After WWI the government granted several veterans land to establish farms in the isolated area and the bridge which was completed in 1936 was part of a roadway that went to Raetihi. Most of the settlers abandoned the area in the 1940's and the road no longer exists but the concrete bridge is still there. It was a nice walk in the rain to see the bridge and we stopped to have the sandwiches which we had in our backpack along the way. Afterward we took the jet boat to The Bridge To Nowhere Lodge and stayed for 2 nights before taking the jet boat back to Pipiriki.

After 20 years this company are still providing great value for money trips. We stayed overnight in their Pipiriki campsite with a huge flat camping area. Heard a
Kiwi bird calling during the early evening. Impressive welcome from Junior who remembers everyone's names whenever he sees you. The jet boat trip up the river was exciting and informative whilst still feeling in the very safe hands of Thomas our captain, guide, drink carrier and story teller. This trip involves a 45 minute walk would recommend walking trainers or boots. When you get to the bridge to nowhere drinks and biscuits are provided along with a short talk on the history of the area. This is also enhanced by the photos available to view.
